Microsoft announced the acquisition of Avere Systems for an undisclosed amount in order to further boost its hybrid cloud mission. Avere provides NFS and SMB file storage for Windows and Linux clients running in the cloud, hybrid and on-premises environments

Microsoft has rolled out a new update to the preview version of Microsoft Edge for iOS. Apart from some minor changes, the update has most significantly added support for 3D Touch. The Microsoft and Heptio collaboration aims to ensure Heptio Ark delivers a strong Kubernetes disaster-recovery solution for customers who want to use it on Azure. Fujitsu and Microsoft on Saturday announced to build new Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based solutions that will transform the ways people work. Based on the Microsoft 365 integrated cloud service, the new solutions will be powered by Fujitsu’s AI technology, Fujitsu Human Centric AI Zinrai, and Microsoft AI platform services on Azure. The two companies aim to develop a new $2 billion of new businesses in the global market by 2020.
