Microsoft has now offered explanations to assure users that its latest operating system doesn’t put anyone’s privacy and personal information at risk. “From the very beginning, we designed Windows 10 with two straightforward privacy principles in mind,” Terry Myerson, Microsoft’s Executive Vice President of the Windows and Devices Group said. The company has also updated its Windows 10 services preferences FAQ pages to be clearer on the privacy front.

Microsoft announced that its IoT Suite, first announced in April, is now available for purchase. The suite will perform a set of IoT services, such as data stream collection and storage. The suite can also apply functions such as remote monitoring, fleet or asset management, and predictive maintenance. “The machine data can also be fed into Microsoft’s Power BI, its Azure-based analytics system, for analysis and rich visualization,” said Mike Schutz, General Manager of Cloud Platform Marketing.

SnapLogic, an industry leader in enterprise integration platform as a service (iPaaS), announced new capabilities for delivering application and data integration for Microsoft Cortana Analytics Suite. The SnapLogic Elastic Integration Platform enables customers to get to business insights faster by providing self-service data ingestion, preparation and delivery from virtually any source — whether on-premises, in the cloud or in hybrid environments — to the Cortana Analytics Suite.

One of the more intriguing things to come out Microsoft’s gaming efforts in the recent years is Project Spark. It let users make their own games on Windows PCs and the Xbox One. The business model it followed was free with micro-transactions, allowing users to enhance and customise their experience. The team behind it announced it will pivot to “a free and open creation platform.” On October 5, all previously paid downloadable content will be available for all Project Spark users both new and old.

Microsoft announced that it has agreed to acquire the product assets from Adxstudio, a longtime partner of its Dynamics business. The deal will give Microsoft access to tools that extend Dynamics to the Web, which the company will integrate directly into its CRM product. The product that Microsoft bought allows businesses to connect their Dynamics system to a Web portal that can then be used for things like partner relationship management, technical support solutions and more.

Microsoft launched its local data centres in India, which will offer its Azure cloud services, much earlier than its deadline of December this year, a move that will help it build more confidence among the government, Indian companies and small and medium businesses in the country. The centres are being launched at Pune, Chennai and Mumbai. “The hyper scale cloud will empower governments, businesses and users and offer enough computing power that will support all their existing workloads,” said Bhaskar Pramanik, Microsoft India chairman.
