Microsoft is working relentlessly to provide users with the latest Creator’s update. The upgrade is coming in waves and the most compatible machines are the first one to receive them. Creator’s update has been developed with a keen focus on the requirements of creators and artists.

Microsoft has taken another step in the AI direction, by announcing that its next-generation HoloLens augmented reality headset will come with an on-device AI chip. This integrated AI chip will help in faster processing time and eradicate the need to upload on cloud first, making mobile processing more secure and fast.

Speaking at Microsoft’s financial conference call for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2017, ended on June 30th, Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella praised the state of the Xbox business, and discussed the strategic opportunities that it opens for Microsoft.

Windows 10 now has 500 million monthly active users, and the enterprise and education deployments of Windows 10 increased 33% for the quarter ended June 30, 2017 (Q4 FY17), Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said during the company’s earnings call.

Microsoft has teamed up with Johnson Controls to develop GLAS, a new thermostat with a sleek a translucent touchscreen that lets you adjust the temperature in your room, and monitor air quality and energy usage by tapping the display or issuing voice commands to its built-in Cortana assistant.

At Microsoft Inspire earlier this month, the tech giant unveiled its latest partner strategy, the One Commercial Partner. This move will ensure that all the aspects of partner knowledge and expertise, including business development, marketing skills and technical support, are put under one umbrella.

Driven by exponential growth in its intelligent Azure Cloud offering, Microsoft has reported much better profits than expected for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2017 that ended on June 30. The company reported a revenue of $23.3 billion and net income of $6.5 billion. “Innovation across our cloud platforms drove strong results this quarter,” said CEO Satya Nadella.

Xbox One X is far, far more powerful than the PS4 Pro is. “… this really is the most powerful games console on the planet. Microsoft is really throwing a lot more into the devkit itself too, really going that extra step to make development a breeze, which is great to see”. Linkedln will shortly extend its “Made in India” product, Linkedln Lite, to more than 60 countries. Linkedln India Head, Akshay Kothari told ETtech that they recently tested the product in some of its other markets and witnessed significant growth in its user engagement.

Microsoft is ramping up its focus on machine reading as part of the company’s growing artificial-intelligence push. Two Microsoft researchers recently presented papers on machine learning. One of them has also authored a paper on ReasoNet, a new neural network architecture in which Microsoft has been investing.
