Positioning itself as a “big believer in net neutrality”, Microsoft’s video calling service Skype today said it continues to push for affordable Internet access to consumers. “We are big believers in net neutrality. That’s been our stated point of view globally and we believe that in the end net neutrality serves the interest of consumers and we will continue to push for that position,” said Skype Corporate Vice President Gurdeep Singh Pall.

The Economic Times: Skype launches Bollywood emojis, videos for India

Skype made available Bollywood specific Mojis, short videos from popular movies and TV shows, to express themselves in Skype messages or chat. The India launch is the first global launch for Moji’s from Skype. The Microsoft backed video chat and calling service, has partnered with Indian studios Yash Raj Films and ErosNow, the on-demand entertainment platform of Eros International, to develop custom Mojis for Skype users.

NDTV: Videocon launches ‘World’s First Windows 10 TV’, starting Rs. 39,990

Videocon, in partnership with Microsoft, on Wednesday launched what it is calling the world’s first Windows 10-powered LED TV, priced at Rs. 39,990 for the 32-inch panel, and Rs. 52,990 for the 40-inch model. The TV, which can also work as a personal computer, will be available in the market next month. Called ‘One Touch PC, One Touch TV’, the Windows 10 televisions come equipped with Microsoft Office, the Windows Store, All Cast app.

T3: Surface Book’s gaming benchmarks leave MacBook Pro 13-inch in the dust

Redmond said the Surface Book is twice as fast as a MacBook Pro – but according to PC World’s benchmarking, it’s actually even quicker than this in terms of pixel shifting. PC World pitted a MacBook Pro 13-inch 2015 with a Core i5 processor boasting Iris 6100 graphics against a Core i5 Surface Book clipboard (tablet). Microsoft’s laptop ran Tomb Raider (1400 x 900 resolution, normal quality) at 74 fps, whereas the MacBook only managed 24 fps. With an artificial gaming benchmark, namely Heaven 4.0 (1366 x 768 resolution, medium quality with 2xAA), Microsoft’s machine managed 39 fps, with Apple’s laptop lagging behind on 18 fps.
