New Delhi, May 19, 2020 – Microsoft today announced the availability of Surface Hub 2S in India. This is the all-in-one digital whiteboard, meeting platform, and teamwork collaborative computing device for the modern workplace. Surface Hub 2S is priced at INR 11,89,999, which includes a Surface Hub 2 Camera and a Surface Hub 2 Pen, and will be available via authorised Hub resellers. The Steelcase Roam mobile stand priced at INR 1,17,500 is also available via these authorised Hub resellers.
The new Surface Hub 2S is the all-in-one collaboration device that lets teams break free from the conference room and turn any space into a teamwork space. In partnership with Steelcase, the Steelcase Roam™, a mobile stand and easy-to-hang wall mounting system, was designed to allow people to use the Surface Hub 2S to collaborate in planned sessions or spontaneously.
As an elegant, portable, and interactive device, Surface Hub 2S harnesses the full power of Microsoft – Windows 10, Microsoft Teams, Office 365, Microsoft Whiteboard, and the intelligent cloud – to unlock productivity. The vibrant 4K+ 50-inch multi-touch display offers an inviting canvas to co-create with the best pen and touch experience, and the highest resolution compared to any device in its class. It is 40 percent lighter, and offers 50 percent faster graphics performance than the original Surface Hub.
“We’ve expanded our Surface family to include not just devices designed for individuals, but also devices purpose-built for teams. In view of the current environment and more teams working remotely, the Surface Hub 2S seamlessly blends into any workspace. The Surface Hub 2S gives teams the mobility and flexibility to collaborate where they work best – whether in a conventional meeting scenario for brainstorms, or virtual meetings powered by Microsoft Teams. For businesses looking to bridge the gap and address different workstyles, the Surface Hub 2S is the perfect addition to enhance productivity, and as a boost to turn innovative ideas to reality,” said Rajiv Sodhi, COO, Microsoft India.
Active teamwork anywhere
Surface Hub 2S fits easily into any space – from a traditional conference room to a compact huddle space. The device gives teams the flexibility to come together wherever they work best. It takes something that has long been a fixture in the conference room – the shared screen – and transforms it into a mobile computer, built for teams. Surface Hub 2S also features the thinnest edge and smallest bezels in its class, integrating seamlessly into any office environment. In fact, its display is 60 percent thinner than its predecessor.
To ensure flexible usage in any space, Microsoft worked with Steelcase to design Steelcase Roam, a mobile stand and easy-to-hang wall mounting system, that allow people to use the Surface Hub 2S to collaborate in planned sessions or spontaneously. The mobile stand can be moved easily with one hand, and its small footprint fits in all kinds of spaces. The wall mounting system is the perfect solution for private offices or smaller spaces, encouraging standing and active postures.
“We joined forces with Microsoft to explore the future of work. Our work together is built on a shared commitment to put people at the centre of how place and technology intersect to empower individuals and teams to do their best work,” says Praveen Rawal, Managing Director, India, SAARC, APAC Design Applications, Steelcase Asia Pacific. “We are thrilled to introduce our latest innovation derived from this powerful partnership to India, giving individuals and teams the freedom to collaborate whenever and wherever ideas strike.”
When paired together, Surface Hub 2S and Steelcase Roam support active collaboration by encouraging teams to move, stand, gesture and become more physically, mentally and emotionally engaged in their collaborative work.
Equal participation
Steelcase Roam and Surface Hub 2S prime people for creative work whether they are physically together or working remotely. A more relaxed, authentic collaborative experience eliminates hierarchy since people can see eye-to-eye and encourages equal participation.
Along with built-in Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business integration, meetings can be started instantly on the Surface Hub 2S with one touch. The large PixelSense Display, enhanced 4K camera, crystal clear speakers and far-field microphone arrays helps everyone on the team – local or remote – see and engage with the meeting content and each other, making it feel almost like they are in the same room together.
Stay in the flow with cloud-enabled Microsoft services
Too often, great ideas are only inked on the conference room whiteboard and the creative flow gets broken when the meeting ends. Surface Hub 2S enables teams to work digitally all the way through their creative process, with access to the tools they rely on. Users can easily sign into Office 365[1] to access and interact with the content, run must-have Microsoft and business applications natively, and interact naturally with Surface Hub 2 Pen and touch.
In addition, Microsoft Whiteboard allows people to collaborate on a shared digital canvas from almost any device so it’s easy to pick up where they left off, keeping teams in their flow. With built-in artificial intelligence feature, users can better express their ideas in less time as it supports ink to shape and text, supported by an infinite cloud-based, virtual canvas. Users can also resume their brainstorm seamlessly with this feature.
