MSN New Zealand and Radio NZ today announced a partnership that will see digital content produced by Radio NZ distributed by MSN NZ.

The partnership will see news stories from Radio New Zealand’s website www.radionz.co.nz published and promoted across the MSN website www.msn.co.nz and apps. Their programming will be available to the more than 700,000 New Zealanders who use MSN each month*, which will significantly extend Radio NZ’s digital reach.

“Radio NZ produces some of the best original news content in New Zealand, so we are naturally excited to be delivering their stories to a new audience across MSN’s ecosystem,” said Matthew Janis, Market Lead for MSN New Zealand.

Glen Scanlon, Radio New Zealand’s Head of Digital, said the broadcaster was delighted to be partnering with MSN, given one of its main goals was to attract new readers and listeners.

“We tell unique stories from New Zealand and the Pacific, and part of our role is to ensure these are getting to as wide an audience as possible,” said Scanlon.

“MSN has a very large platform, one of NZ’s biggest, and there is currently little crossover between our audiences. We believe this partnership will enable us to reach a lot more people who are looking for the kind of high-quality journalism that we produce.”

Radio New Zealand is MSN New Zealand’s latest partnership with a respected publisher. Other MSN partners include Kiwi publishers NZ Newswire and Localist, as well as global media brands like the BBC, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), The Guardian, and more.
