Microsoft was proud to partner with Local Government New Zealand (LGNZ) and Inspiring Stories for ThinkSMASH! over the weekend at Festival for the Future in Wellington.
As a tech company, Microsoft is passionate about and committed to developing technology to address some of the pressing issues in today’s world, empowering people and organisations to achieve more, and the workshop was about doing just that.
More than 150 people over two sessions came together with the help and expertise of Microsofties and LGNZ’s Young Elected Members to craft solutions that would aid New Zealand in achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
It was a great day with some great ideas including utilising rental car GPS and IoT to track tourists around the country to more evenly distribute funding for the upkeep and development of regional New Zealand. Or using AI to knowledge share around tiny and green homes in order to increase their sustainability and efficiency.
