Microsoft NZ has joined the fundraising effort for the NZ AIDS Foundation, Rainbow Youth and OUTLine for the month of June 2021.

Microsoft’s GLEAM NZ partnered with the Wellness Pillar to join the Sweat With Pride month long fundraiser to show support for global Pride month. GLEAM is the Global LBGBTQI+ Employee and Allies at Microsoft network.

The Challenge: From 21 minutes a day

That’s the minimum amount of activity we need for happy and healthy bodies and minds. It sounds easy, but currently 50% of Kiwis aren’t meeting this goal.

We get it – between sitting behind a desk all day, getting stuck in traffic for hours and binge-watching the latest season of Drag Race – it’s hard to find the time!

Sweat with pride can help. This initiative challenges Kiwis to sweat for at least 21 minutes a day this June to get active and raise money to support our Rainbow communities. It’s an amazing way to improve your own health and wellbeing while raising money for an awesome cause – and of course, it’s lots of fun!

Walk, run, wheel, dance – how you sweat is up to you! So whether you’re 18 or 80, queer or an ally, can’t be stopped or want to get started… we need your sweat!

On Thursday 24th June the Microsoft team also hosted a virtual session where everyone could gather online and learn more about Sweat with Pride. Participants then were able to exercise for 21 mins with PTI Matthew Bailey from New Zealand Defence Force.

Panuku i a Microsoft surpassed its donation goal of $5000, with an amazing $6,645 raised so far!
