Microsoft was also proclaimed part of the Circle of Excellence for the category CSR Company of the Year, in recognition of its technology-driven corporate social responsibility projects that help enable economic mobility and life-changing opportunities for the youth, the differently abled, aspiring entrepreneurs, and various institutional partners in the public and private sectors.

Lim, who was a member of the pioneering team that brought the broadband industry to the country, is the head of Microsoft Philippines’ marketing and business operations. Under his leadership, Microsoft Philippines is set to grow by 28% this year, the fastest growth rate on record since the company was established in the country in 1995.

Through his role, Lim is leading the charge towards the country’s digital transformation, by developing and executing strategies in solution areas such as data and artificial intelligence, apps and infra, and modern workplace productivity tools.

“At the heart of Microsoft’s success is its people, and working here has given me the opportunity to work with brilliant minds in the Philippines and all over the world. This award is for everyone who share in our company’s vision to transform and uplift society through technology, and to all my colleagues who have helped enable people and institutions to grow,” Lim says.

Lim joined Microsoft Philippines in 2016 as business group leader for the office and cloud marketing group, wherein he fueled the company’s cloud productivity business growth by 71% year-on-year.

Prior to joining Microsoft, Lim worked in PLDT, where he served as part of the team that built the broadband industry in the Philippines. He also headed the company’s Cloud and ICT category, managing a portfolio of products with a base revenue of PHP4.5 billion.

Lim previously won the Young Market Master Award for Marketing Management from Mansmith and Fielders in 2012, and won various awards including Anvil and Quill awards for heading various marketing campaigns.

Microsoft’s corporate social responsibility projects anchored on the use of technology to help various sectors were likewise recognized. These programs include The Education Ambassador’s Program, which aims to equip 30,000 educators and students with the skills to use the latest technology in teaching and learning; KROPS, a cloud-based mobile application that allows farmers to maximize yields and secure the best price for their produce with the use of smartphones; and Barangay Walang Iwanan, which harnesses cloud technology to gather useful community information from 10,000 barangays to aid in the quick mobilization of resources from Gawad Kalinga volunteers in times of disasters.
