Celebrating fruitful partnerships and forging a strong partner ecosystem to enable digital transformation

2020 has been a year of uncertainty, to say the least. We experienced a global pandemic, period of lockdown, sudden shift to remote working, and volatile economic climate. The past year has shown us that no business is immune to a crisis, and it is now more important than ever that companies innovate and embrace digital transformation to future-proof their businesses.

Despite the adversities, we have seen our partners leverage opportunities across the intelligent cloud and edge – allowing organisations of all types to connect, operate, and continue meeting the demands of today’s digital economy. We have seen amazing displays of agility and creativity as partners navigate a new normal for their businesses, while still striving to bring innovative solutions and services to customers through the adoption of Microsoft’s cloud services and technology.

The Microsoft partner community is a powerful ecosystem. For decades, it has been and continues to be at the center of how we deliver technologies and drive innovation for customers in Singapore and around the world. With the acceleration of digital transformation, the intelligent cloud and edge, and tech intensity as a strategic imperative – forces that will only expand – we are on a momentous journey with our partners. Together, we are striving to meet emerging customer needs and expectations against a backdrop of major change, as we continue to enable and empower organisations in line with Singapore’s Smart Nation ambitions.

Beyond our commercial partners, Microsoft also nurtures partnerships with the Singapore government, educational institutions, as well as Trade Associations and Chambers (TACs), to drive tech intensity and Singapore’s digital economy. This includes working with partners such as the Infocomm Media Development Authority and the Association of Small & Medium Enterprises to help SMEs go digital, and jointly launching a national skills initiative with government and corporate partners to nurture and accelerate tech skills capabilities in the Singapore workforce. The impact of our work is monumental, and we are proud to have our partners with us on this journey to reach and help every part of our society achieve more.

Investing in the partner experience

Amidst a challenging year, we would like to take the opportunity to thank all our partners for their tenacity and recognise the great work that they do with our customers across the various industries. This year, as we celebrate Microsoft’s 30 years in Singapore, we also celebrate 30 years of close collaboration and rapport with our partners. Together, we are working toward the same goals: Innovate and deliver new solutions while driving success and digital transformation for our customers. The strength of our stack and the reach and expertise of our partners make our goals achievable, our offering unique, and our impact undeniable.

The 2020 Microsoft Singapore Partner of the Year Awards is especially significant, and it is important that we celebrate these partnerships and excellence – albeit virtually for the first time – under extraordinary circumstances. This year’s winners have demonstrated excellence in innovation and implementation of customer solutions that transformed businesses, cities, homes, and customer experiences. More importantly, we witnessed how they thrived amidst the chaos and supported in creating economic opportunities and societal impact in Singapore at a challenging time – a true display of grit and excellence against the odds.

Recognising that we are in a prime position to connect and celebrate our partners’ regional successes, we have also included three new Asia Pacific Partner Awards categories to recognise outstanding regional partners who have demonstrated business leadership in the region with their innovative and unique services and solutions that are built on the Microsoft platform.
