Dennis Chung

Chief Security Officer, Microsoft Singapore

Dennis Chung is the Chief Security Officer of Microsoft Singapore and has been with the company for the past 15 years. He works with key cybersecurity stakeholders across government, industries, and academia to drive efforts in building skill sets and cyber resiliency and safety. Alongside that, he also advises on tech-security policies and standards and endeavours to partner with customers and partners to right-size security positions that allows tech to freely innovate in a cyber safe manner.

Prior to his current appointment, Dennis was a Technology Evangelist driving deep technical engagements with Servers & Tools Business, and Office Business Solutions. He was also technology strategist and leader for Defence and Homeland, Education, Government and Healthcare, and was responsible for bringing cloud innovations (M365, Azure, D365) to public sector customers. He specializes in Defence and Education technologies.

He is currently 1st Vice Chair of SGTech Cloud and Data Chapter, Committee member of SGTech Data Protection Advisory, member of Singapore Standards Committee for Cloud Computing and Data Standards, and Chief Expert of Cloud Skills (Worldskills Singapore). He is passionate about grooming the next generation and actively shares his knowledge freely.

Prior to Microsoft, he taught and worked in several public sector entities, and was also awarded Microsoft’s Most Valuable Professionals for 7 years.

Dennis graduated from Cardiff University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (Majoring in AI and Formal Languages). Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, swimming, cycling and shooting.
