Microsoft Hosts ‘Empower’ Summit to Bring Latest Technologies to Oman

Muscat, Sultanate of Oman – 14th March 2016 – As part of its ongoing commitment to enhance and develop Oman’s ICT sector, Microsoft hosted the ‘Empower’ Summit that aim to bring the latest technologies to Oman.

The half day Summit introduced Oman to the latest technologies for businesses; an array of speakers and subject matter experts from the region presented a broad portfolio of services and products such as Windows 10, Windows Devices and Apps, Office 2016 and Microsoft Azure, in addition to a wide range of advanced solutions focused on analytics, productivity and IoT.

“Hosting such event comes in line with Microsoft’s mission to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more,” said Sherif Tawfik, Microsoft Oman Country General Manager. “At Microsoft, we understand the importance of Technology in today’s challenging world and its prominent role in empowering the Omani market and businesses to boost productivity, leverage latest technology innovations to increase business efficiencies and contribute towards enhancing the Sultanate’s global competitiveness and boosting the national economy. ‘Empower’ comes to reflect Microsoft Oman’s commitment to realizing the goals of its national plan that comes in line with Oman’s National Vision 2020.” He further explained that Microsoft’s ambitions are: to Create More Personal Computing, Reinvent Productivity and Business Processes and Build the Intelligent Cloud.

Participants in the Microsoft ‘Empower’ Summit experienced the latest platform and productivity solutions including Windows 10, Windows Devices and Apps, Office 2016, Microsoft Azure and much more.

The Microsoft Empower Summit welcomed hundreds of representatives from the private and public sectors, in addition to industry professionals and technology enthusiasts. The event featured live demonstrations on Windows 10, Windows Devices, Office 2016 and the Internet of Things. The accompanying exhibition presented the participants with the opportunity to get an immersive experience in the latest of platform and productivity solutions from Microsoft.
