Microsoft Bahrain hosts Empowering Digital Government Transformation Event

Al Qaed addresses the audience on the value of innovation to empower government transformation 5 Government entities recognized for their dedicated efforts to affect change

Under the patronage of Mr. Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Chief Executive, Information and eGovernment Authority, Microsoft Bahrain hosted the Empowering Digital Government transformation event with the participation of over 200 officials and representatives from the different government bodies in Bahrain. The event celebrates the renewed government agreement between Microsoft and the Government of Bahrain and invites all representatives from the government to utilize technology in support of innovation and digital transformation.

The half day event introduced Bahrain’s Government sector to Microsoft’s vast network of devices, software and services partners, which aim to advance government priorities to build economic growth, drive good governance and promote cost efficiencies.

“In this mobile-first, cloud-first world, government organizations are uniquely positioned to take advantage of current digital and societal trends that enable their people to achieve more and deliver better services to a growing developed population,” said Sherif Tawfik, Microsoft Bahrain and Oman Country General Manager. “At Microsoft, we deliver the platform and productivity solutions Governments need to address all of the key transformation challenges they face-from mobility, data analytics and IoT to the cloud infrastructure that makes everything possible. Governments use our global-scale, enterprise-grade, hybrid cloud platform to deliver improved citizen outcomes.” Tawfik added “This event comes to reflect Microsoft Bahrain’s ongoing commitment to realizing the goals of its national plan that comes in line with the Kingdom’s National Vision 2030 with regards to transforming Bahrain into a digital society.”

An array of speakers and subject matter experts from the region presented a broad portfolio of services and products that help Government institutions optimize their cost and operating efficiency with flexible and trusted cloud services and solutions that allow them to harness the power of the cloud on their own terms.

Mr. Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Chief Executive, Information and eGovernment Authority commended the important role Microsoft has played as Bahraini Government’s Technology partner throughout the years. Microsoft Empowering Digital Government Summit and Expo featured a vast partner network including Almoayyed Computers, Intercol, Dell, Lenovo and Intel.
