CITRA, Microsoft host Cloud & AI Workshop to accelerate digitization within government entities of Kuwait

23rd December 2018; KUWAIT CITY, KUWAIT – In line with its efforts to accelerate digital transformation amongst government entities in Kuwait, the Communications and information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA), and Microsoft hosted a workshop event to accelerate adoption of Cloud and Artificial intelligence technologies, enabling the country to pursue the mission of government modernization.

Mr. ​​Mohammad Jassim​ Al-Tora,  Chief of Information Technology ​Sector, CITRA​ delivered the opening keynote session and highlighted the importance of digital transformation of the public sector as part of the New Kuwait vision, and how it can make an impact on the country’s economy by adopting the cloud and digital technologies.

He said “digital transformation is only possible when governments leave behind traditional processes and find innovative ways to bring data, people and processes together. Technology is not simply adding capability – it is transforming the entire model to overcome challenges, which requires the openness to re-envision our services and become a true digital government. This is our mission and we are accelerating in this journey with events like these and with the support of Microsoft – a partner who can be trusted to deliver the technology and the expertise, to accelerate this ambitious digital transformation journey,”

The workshop covered case studies, panel discussions, technology showcase and demonstrations. Microsoft experts shared best practices and highlighted various use case scenarios of AI technologies powered by the intelligent cloud that can enable government entities to leverage them in their operations to gain actionable insights for better decision making and improve government operations. The attendees also learned about the use of Chatbots, Machine learning and Cognitive services to improve government services to increase accuracy, apply automation, and infuse those capabilities in government applications and customer channels.

Microsoft partners also participated in the workshop to showcase ground breaking solutions built on the Microsoft Azure Cloud platform. EasyDocs showcased Digital Locker Solutions that enable secure storage and the ability to share Official Documents Online; Blackstone demonstrated various chatbot, machine learning and robot solutions for efficient government operations; SiteCore highlighted Digital Experience solutions for optimized citizen service delivery; and Sprinklr revealed its social media analytics platform to better engage citizens
