10 May 2020; Kuwait City, Kuwait – Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC) has announced that it has expanded its partnership with Microsoft in line with its cloud-first approach to accelerate its digital transformation journey. The strategic step will enable KIPIC to pursue its vision to become a key player in the sector.

Since its inception, KIPIC has been an early adopter of the Microsoft Cloud including infrastructure as a service (IAAS) and platform as a service (PAAS). The organization has placed strong emphasis on technology innovation to transform the role of IT to enable both – business and user driven experiences to deliver optimized value and derivative competitive advantage. This has unlocked numerous benefits including agility, scalability, business intelligence, in line with its efforts to become true modern workplace.

“At KIPIC, we strive to build an optimized and fully-integrated facility to match our world-class standards by unlocking the potential of our employees. That is what inspires our core belief to “Make More Possible” and truly energize Kuwait,” said Mahmoud Abul, Deputy CEO Financial Affairs and Administration, KIPIC. “Technology plays a pivotal role by enabling us to accelerate remote working for our workforce and assure their wellbeing. Our partnership with Microsoft is a cornerstone of this effort as we take a leap forward in applying best-in-class technology and trusted tools to ensure undisrupted communication and smooth workflow among KIPIC staff.

To ensure business continuity while empowering employees to leverage modern workplace tools, KIPIC has adopted Microsoft Teams to enable its staff to work remotely, from anywhere, on any device. With Teams, the employees can now chat, conduct audio, and video calls, store files, and collaborate – all in a single, centralized digital communications hub.

KIPIC has also been able to realize a new, modern workplace service by migrating all company employees to Azure Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD). With this, they gained instant and secure access to company resources remotely, in a seamless way; just like they were on company premises. The WVD service has empowered KIPIC employees by removing limitations and barriers to working from home in a secured and productive environment.

“The intelligent cloud holds the power to address the evolving needs of those who realize the benefits of digital transformation,” said Alaeddine Karim, Country Manager, Microsoft Kuwait. “KIPIC has already been ahead of the curve by harnessing the power of Microsoft Azure to better optimize its operations and transform services. Now, by adopting cutting-edge innovations, combined with enterprise security – it has empowered employees to work remotely and become true modern workplace.”
