Qatar University (QU) and Microsoft signed an Education Transformation Agreement to empower every student and every faculty member with tools and skills to harness the power of advanced technology to achieve more.
The agreement aims to support QU’s digital transformation journey through the implementation of Microsoft Education Transformation Framework for Higher Education’s main pillars: safeguarding the campus’ cyber environment; leveraging new technologies to deliver innovative teaching and learning experiences; embracing intelligent technologies such as AI and cloud computing to accelerate scientific research breakthroughs; and the most important pillar: student success.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Khalid Al-Khater, QU Vice President of Administrative and Financial Affairs and Lana Khalaf, General Manager of Microsoft Qatar, in a ceremony held at QU campus in the presence of several senior officials from both parties.
Commenting on this announcement, Dr. Khalid Al-Khater, QU Vice President of Administrative and Financial Affairs, explained that this agreement comes as part of the longstanding strategic partnership between Qatar University and Microsoft to empower students and educators with cutting edge technology and the relevant skills and tools to enrich their learning experience and prepare them for the future. Al-Khater said “Qatar University takes pride in its achievements in the digital transformation journey, and this renewed partnership with Microsoft acts as a significant accelerator to our ambitions, as the national university of the State of Qatar, to serve the Qatari community as a whole.”
For her part, Lana Khalaf, General Manager, Microsoft Qatar said, “The Education Transformation Agreement with Qatar University will accelerate our shared efforts to empower every student and every faculty member to achieve more by harnessing the power of cloud and AI. This extended partnership will help drive innovative student engagement, transform operations, and ensure a secure and connected campus, while equipping students with future ready skills.”
