Microsoft appoints Dharma Simorangkir to lead Indonesia

Jakarta, Indonesia – 7 February 2022 – Microsoft today announced the appointment of Dharma Simorangkir as the new President Director for its operations in Indonesia. He brings 20 years of business experience and vast industry knowledge, to advance growth and digital acceleration for Indonesia, its developer and startup ecosystem, enterprise businesses, small to medium enterprises, the public sector, and crucial industry vertical sectors.

Dharma joins Microsoft from Telkomsel where he was the Senior Vice President managing their enterprise business. During his tenure, he successfully grew the business, by focusing on customer needs and transformed the organization by building a team mindset. Prior to Telkomsel, he held leadership positions at Honeywell, Ericsson, Nokia Siemens Networks, Huawei, and co-founded a mobile digital start-up.  

At Microsoft, Dharma will be responsible for accelerating the country’s digital transformation through cloud adoption, helping businesses in Indonesia build their resilience and digital skills as they continue to grapple with the pandemic, and empowering digital-first companies and start-ups with the tools to scale their innovation.

Dharma graduated from University of Brawijaya with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering and has a Master of Business Administration from IPMI International Business School.
