Jakarta, 23 November 2022 – PT Bank BTPN Tbk. and Microsoft announced another collaboration to accelerate Bank BTPN’s digital transformation. This collaboration is carried out by utilizing the Microsoft 365 ecosystem to support the implementation of hybrid work for more than 9,600 Bank BTPN employees across various regions in Indonesia. With 66% of workers in Indonesia considering switching to hybrid work and 83% of employees in Asia Pacific feeling productive during hybrid work, partnership on the use of technology solutions that can safely support productivity and inclusiveness within organizations is becoming increasingly critical.
Jeny Mustopha, Chief Information Technology of Bank BTPN said, “Like other businesses and service providers, the pandemic has pushed Bank BTPN to redefine the concept of work. At the beginning of the pandemic, we implemented a work-from-home policy, so we were challenged to move operational activities to the digital world while maintaining compliance with regulations that apply to this highly regulated industry. With the collaboration with Microsoft, we are grateful that the Microsoft technology ecosystem that we have started using since before the pandemic is able to become one of the main platforms that ensures Bank BTPN’s operational activities can run safely and without obstacles.”
The transition to a hybrid work system is not limited to setting policies on working from and outside of the office, but also includes the entire digital transformation process that can increase employee productivity. In this case, it is necessary to ensure that the technological devices used are simple, enable safer collaboration, and meet requirements without disrupting productivity, given the high level of cybercrime* and the potential vulnerability of individual and organizational data leaks.
Wahjudi Purnama, Modern Work GTM Lead Microsoft Indonesia said, “We believe technology, productivity, and trust must always go hand in hand. That is why Microsoft is developing various solutions, including Microsoft 365 which has international security and compliance certifications, as part of our commitment to continue empowering individuals and organizations in Indonesia to achieve more. We are pleased to welcome Bank BTPN into the Microsoft technology ecosystem, and we hope this can be an inspiration for financial industry players in implementing hybrid work.”
Bank BTPN Continues to Digitize Various Organizational Operational Activities
In implementing hybrid work, Bank BTPN uses Microsoft 365, a modern cloud-based productivity work tool that combines the flexibility of a digital workplace with control and enforcement of policies to meet a strict compliance framework. A number of features such as task and productivity monitoring, multifactor authentication, secure file sharing, and the location identifier system available in Microsoft 365 have supported Bank BTPN to start a new mode of work within the organization.
The new work mode that Bank BTPN has implemented includes digitizing various processes that were previously done manually such as attendance lists, signatures, workspace bookings, and vendor management, which also helps to reduce paper usage. In addition, digitization is also carried out by initiating flexible workplaces in a secure network system using digital infrastructure, enabling employees to work from home or office. Employees now also have the flexibility to work productively from any Bank BTPN branches that are closer to their homes.
“Not only that, collaborative activities such as chatting, telephone, exchanging files, and brainstorming in one digital workspace also increasingly supports existing work processes. This flexible, efficient, and all-digital work culture and system allows employees to remain productive while minimizing unwanted cyber incidents,” continued Jeny.
Along with productivity and collaboration capabilities, Microsoft 365 is also equipped with security features such as Multifactor Authentication, Microsoft Defender for Office 365, and Information Rights Management which help maximize the protection of its users’ modern workspaces. Security capabilities like these are increasingly relevant, especially considering that 80% of ransomware attacks starts from common software and hardware misconfigurations that could have been prevented if companies implemented basic security measures on a regular basis.
“Security in hybrid work cannot be compromised, especially in high-risk industries such as financial services. Going forward, we will continue to innovate in order to enable every individual and organization to carry out daily activities comfortably in a safe environment,” concluded Wahjudi.
