Jakarta, 6 March 2024 – Microsoft recently launched Microsoft AI Founders Club, an exclusive community dedicated for B2B startup founders who are committed to accelerating their business growth with AI, in Indonesia. The community serves as a forum for the B2B startup founders to receive personal coaching sessions from Microsoft Executive Advisors across AI-related engineering, finance, and go-to-market; guidance on potential geographical expansion; guidance on building thought leadership on LinkedIn; exclusive access to previewing new Microsoft AI solutions; engagement with Microsoft engineers to access preview solutions to develop a comprehensive AI product roadmap; and many more.

As home to the sixth-most startups in the world and the only ASEAN member in the top 10 countries with the most startups*, Indonesian startups present a unique opportunity to generate massive economic and societal impact within Indonesia, Southeast Asia, and globally. With plenty of opportunities presented by AI, we believe startups can revolutionize their business operations, gain unique insights into customer behavior, develop new, out-of-the-box solutions and economies altogether, and create a positive impact like no other. This is why we are excited to bring Microsoft AI Founders Club to Indonesia,” stated Dharma Simorangkir, President Director of Microsoft Indonesia.

Up to 18 Indonesian startups have been selected to join the Microsoft AI Founders Club Indonesia. Some of them include MTARGET and Meeting.AI.

MTARGET Gains Competitive Edge with Generative AI

Startups are increasingly leveraging AI to improve and expand their existing offerings, in order to gain an edge with industry peers. This shift has been prompted by the current intensely competitive business landscape, wherein businesses continuously strive to capture a wider consumer market through the latest technology and attractive features. One such startup is MTARGET, an email marketing company committed to delivering all-in-one email solutions.

“Many businesses still rely on emails for marketing as well as acquiring and retaining customers. We initially considered simply offering a one-size-fits-all email solution, but we quickly realized that it is not a sustainable model, as our customers seek more personalized solutions,” explained Masas Dani, Co-Founder, CTO of MTARGET.

“We then sought to develop a feature that could suggest creative content to help our customers compose emails as part of their marketing campaigns, thereby helping them become more productive. While we wanted to get started on developing this new feature immediately, we were short on resources. This led us to adopt Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service. That generative AI technology by Microsoft helped us to realize our vision and helped us complete the solution within just two weeks, which would have otherwise taken a significantly longer time. We are happy to announce that this feature, called the Digital Intelligence Assistant, has recently been launched, and is among the first of its kind in Southeast Asia,” Masas continued.

Supercharging Productivity with Meeting.AI

Meeting.AI is the leading AI-powered automatic summarization and transcription software in Indonesia that has been leveraging Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service to transform every meeting, whether online or offline, into a valuable asset, facilitating better knowledge retention and management within businesses.

According to the 2023 Microsoft Work Trend Index, employees spend at least 7.5 hours per week in meetings thereby reducing focus time for other important tasks. The time-saving nature of Meeting.AI solution allows its customers to generate meeting notes and summarize action items quickly, while also building a comprehensive knowledge base from the compilation of meeting notes, thereby supercharging productivity. Within just four months of operations, Meeting.AI saw over 50 thousand users registering for their services, and the numbers are expected to grow as more companies seek to provide a more meaningful working experience for their employees in order to foster innovation, creativity, and productivity.

“Transcription services in the past, which have been predominantly manual, can be time-consuming, limited in terms of language support, and require extensive training to ensure the information included in the notes is accurate and relevant. This concern inspired us to develop our flagship solution powered by Generative AI, which offers highly accurate transcription in Bahasa Indonesia and also local dialects that can be used to summarize offline meetings,” explained Hokiman Kurniawan, Co-founder, CEO of Meeting.AI.

“Our solution has successfully supported clients in reducing the time needed by their employees to create meeting notes; on average our client’s employees now spend only 20% of their time as opposed to 450%, without compromising on the quality of the deliverables. It is clear that AI can revolutionize productivity and offer more efficient ways of knowledge retention, and we look forward to incorporating it in all of our products,” Hokiman continued.

Empowering Indonesia in the New Era of AI

The launch of Microsoft AI Founders Club is a continuation of the Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub introduced in 2022, which reinforces Microsoft’s unwavering commitment to empower startup ambitions, fuel innovation, potentially create new economies, and navigate the complexities of the evolving business landscape.

“Founders Hub has been helping startups to embrace the transformative power of cloud and AI with free access to industry-leading technology that empowers startups to unlock limitless innovation. With Microsoft AI Founders Club, selected Founders Hub members who are committed to accelerating their growth with AI and creating new AI-powered economies for Indonesia would receive additional access to the technology, tools, and resources they need to succeed and drive positive impact in today’s new AI era,” concluded Dharma.
