Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison Collaborates with Microsoft, Drives Telco Transformation to TechCo Through AI Utilization

Jakarta, 15 August 2024 – Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat or IOH) reaffirms its commitment to transition from Telco to AI Native TechCo by maximizing the use of artificial intelligence (AI) across the company’s operations. Continuing its collaboration with Microsoft, Indosat employs Copilot for Microsoft 365, an integrated AI assistant, to enhance productivity and connect communities across the Indonesian archipelago.

Sanjeev Rawat, Chief Digital Officer of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, emphasized the company’s broader mission alongside the partnership with Microsoft, saying, “At Indosat, we’re not just integrating AI into our strategy; we’re cultivating a culture of innovation. Indosat’s approach aligns with Microsoft’s Work Trend Index 2024, indicating shifts in Indonesia’s work dynamics through AI utilization. The study reveals that 92% of professionals in Indonesia leverage generative AI in the workplace, with 92% of leaders recognizing AI’s importance for enhancing competitiveness. This high adoption underscores the significance of using AI across various workforce layers. Consequently, leaders understand AI’s value can motivate employees and translate it into tangible business benefits.

In the transition from Telco to AI Native TechCo, Indosat supported by Microsoft in leveraging Copilot to enhance business impact and strategic contributions to digital connectivity.
