Microsoft Achieves ‘Low’ grade in Cloud Service Security Assurance Program

  • Microsoft Azure Cloud Services Achieve CSAP-Low Grade Certification
  • Infrastructure evaluation of services operated in the Azure Korea region, including Azure OpenAI… Proven safety and reliability in the public sector following private and financial sectors
  • Microsoft to provide Azure cloud services with verified safety and reliability to public institutions… Plans to actively support compliance with KISA regulations

Microsoft has obtained the ‘Low’ grade certification from the Cloud Security Assurance Program (CSAP) by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA).

This certification is the result of KISA’s assessment of the operational environment of Microsoft’s Azure cloud services in the Korea region. The evaluation included AI-related services such as infrastructure, computing, storage, networking, databases, security, and more.

Microsoft, which has established a leading position in the global cloud services sector, demonstrates the quality and reliability of Azure cloud services through over 100 global security certifications, including ISO 9001, SOC 1, SOC 2, and SOC 3. Additionally, Microsoft has been recognized for its safety by obtaining security certifications annually in the domestic private and financial sectors, such as the Korea Information Security Management System (K-ISMS) and the Financial Security Institute’s CSP safety evaluation.

With this CSAP certification, not only private and financial companies but also domestic public institutions can now use Azure cloud services with verified safety and reliability. Microsoft plans to actively support domestic public sector customers in more efficiently meeting KISA’s compliance requirements.

Hyun-kyong Yoo, Public Sector Lead at Microsoft Korea, said, “We are very pleased that Microsoft, as a leading global cloud provider, has set a precedent by obtaining security certification from the Korea Internet & Security Agency. We will do our best to contribute to accelerating innovation for public sector customers in Korea with AI and cloud, while meeting the high reliability requirements of domestic public institutions.”
