SINGAPORE, October 1, 2013 — Microsoft Corp. today announced the next phase of its business-channel expansion plans for the Surface family of PCs. In addition to Singapore, other markets announcing commercial channel availability for Surface today include: Malaysia, Thailand, New Zealand, Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
As part of its measured and phased approach to the growth of the Surface business, Microsoft welcomed new authorized resellers to the Microsoft Devices Program. The program establishes a newly designated group of device-authorized commercial resellers in Singapore. Resellers ready to transact today include AsiaPac Distribution, Dimension Data, SoftwareOne, and UIC Asian Computer Services.
In addition to offering Microsoft’s extended warranty and accidental damage, resellers bring a variety of value-added services to the Surface family such as asset tagging, custom imaging, kitting, onsite service and support, device recycling, and data protection.
This next phase follows a series of business-channel expansion announcements Microsoft has made beginning in the United States on July 1, and extending now to a total of 29 markets worldwide. Microsoft has established a two-tier program that enables specific device-authorized distributors to sell Surface to a newly-designated group of device-authorized commercial resellers.
