FPT Software Leads AI-Powered Development
FPT Software is the largest software company in Vietnam, with approximately 30,000 developers and numerous domestic and international projects. The company is actively leading the global AI transformation through its adoption of GitHub Copilot.
Speaking on this topic, Mr. Tran Nguyen Dang Khoa, Head of FPT Software’s Technology and Solution Department, shared: ‘FPT Software is currently building numerous AI data platforms for customers. When Generative AI emerged, we posed a question to all our developers: How will GenAI help our customers?
To answer this question, FPT Software integrated GitHub Copilot into their daily work for developers. After implementation, the results were clear: developer productivity rose by at least 15% and Copilot-generated code now accounts for up to 40% of accepted source code. This technology helps developers write code faster and more accurately, while also assisting with code reviews and error detection. As both assistant and mentor, it also helps developers work efficiently and reduce errors.
To measure effectiveness, FPT Software’s engineers and developers not only rely on GitHub Copilot suggestions for projects but have also built an internal platform to aggregate these suggestions for research and performance analysis.
‘We conducted an internal survey about discontinuing GitHub Copilot, and 100% of developers opposed the idea. This clearly proves that this technology has become an indispensable AI assistant and trusted companion for programmers at FPT Software,’ affirmed Mr. Dang Khoa.
Starting with hundreds of GitHub Copilot accounts, the company expects this number to grow to thousands by the end of the year.
