Microsoft Thailand, in partnership with the Digital Government Development Agency (DGA), announced the success of the ‘Tech for Gov 2025: NextGen Gov AI Training Program.’ This program has significantly enhanced AI proficiency among government officers from various agencies, fostering innovation and leveraged service delivery to advance citizen experiences in Thailand’s digital landscape.

The core objective of the ‘Tech for Gov 2025: NextGen Gov AI Training Program’ was to enhance public services and optimize government operational efficiency. The program was designed to equip government officers with advanced AI skills, empowering participants to navigate the evolving technological landscape. The curriculum spanned from foundational AI awareness and understanding to practical application skills, culminating in the development of AI solutions.

The program attracted significant interest from government officers, with around 2,000 participants signing up for AI training. The curriculum covered essential AI and Machine Learning fundamentals, AI applications in public administration, responsible AI deployment, and practical experience with Microsoft’s AI tools. After the training, participants used their new knowledge in a Hackathon, developing AI projects to address real-world challenges and benefit government and citizens. Microsoft partners, including Fusion Solution, LooLoo Technology, Frontis, STelligence, Betimes Solutions, Amity, Bluebik, Digital Dialogue, and Yip-In-Tsoi, provided mentorship and AI consultation to guide each team.
“Empowering government officers with AI capabilities through the ‘Tech for Gov 2025: NextGen Gov AI Training Program’ aligns with our commitment to upskill one million Thais in AI via the THAI Academy program. We were impressed to see so many participants from all over the country join this program,” said Dhanawat Suthumpun, Managing Director of Microsoft Thailand. “The commitment shown by every participant proves their potential to become catalysts for change, as they leverage AI to enhance operations and efficiency of various government agencies. This program’s success is a testament to the strong collaboration among all stakeholders. We extend our gratitude to DGA for their pivotal role in making this happen, and to all participants for their commitment, and congratulations to all the Hackathon winners. Microsoft remains committed to supporting the application of AI for the future of Thailand.”
Airada Luangvilai, Senior Executive Vice President and Acting President & CEO Digital Government Development Agency, stated “The ‘Tech for Gov 2025: NextGen Gov AI Training Program’ represents a significant step in driving government agencies towards digital transformation. The collective commitment and collaboration of all parties, particularly Microsoft, whose AI tools and platforms are instrumental in elevating work across agencies to deliver more efficient public services. We thank Microsoft and our partners for their contributions in driving this program to a successful conclusion. The Hackathon participants’ commendable outcomes, achieved in a short training period, demonstrate the potential of our government officers to harness AI for Thailand’s benefit, shaping our nation’s future.”

The 12 government agency teams participating in the Hackathon within the ‘Tech for Gov 2025: NextGen Gov AI Training Program’ showcased ingenuity in leveraging AI to innovate and enhance government operations.

The Grand Prize Winner was AI-Din from the Department of Lands, which developed an AI solution to streamline public services. This AI assists with complex tasks requiring specialized expertise, such as query resolution or document verification, thereby reducing the workload on officials and accelerating service delivery.
A representative from the AI-Din team revealed, “Our AI skills training with Microsoft motivated us to integrate AI into our workflows. This project serves as a compelling example for other organizations, demonstrating AI’s value as a powerful assistant. We hope this will inspire broader adoption. We are grateful to Microsoft and DGA for organizing this program. It highlighted that government digital transformation encompasses not just technology, but also a shift in mindset and practical application. Leveraging Microsoft Power Platform helped simplify and accelerate our AI integration, enabling rapid project development. We believe that integrating AI into government will bolster operational efficiency, forming a critical foundation for superior public services and the continued development of our nation.”
The Efficiency Category Winner – enhancing operational efficiency, was The Reform Coders from the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC), which developed the Lert-Na platform. This AI-powered solution streamlines the screening of submissions for the OPDC’s Lert-Rat awards, which recognize government agencies’ efficiency improvement projects. Given the high volume of annual submissions, this system will alleviate the burden of document review and provide data-driven recommendations to the committee, ensuring faster and more transparent decision-making.
The Experience Category Winner – creating citizen experience, was I Will Use AI Every Day from Thailand Post, which developed the CPTA Digital Post platform. This AI solution supports exporters from end-to-end, featuring AI Document Intelligence to assist with document preparation, AI Machine Learning to provide Thailand Post with deeper user insights for continuous improvement, and AI Object Detection for rapid verification of documents not requiring certification.
The Empowerment Category Winner – empowering the nation for success, was ATB Synergy, a collaborative team from the National Anti-Corruption Commission, the Department of Local Administration, and the Secretariat of the House of Representatives. They developed the ‘Tharn Rath’ platform, designed to monitor procurement processes from inception to completion across government agencies, which manage over a million procurement projects annually. This system acts as a transparent conduit, fostering knowledge and enhancing government operational efficiency. Furthermore, AI agents within the platform will reduce the workload of local officials by providing information.
