Microsoft will introduce measures across Microsoft and Xbox storefronts to meet age assurance requirements in Singapore in accordance with the Online Safety Code of Practice for App Distribution Services.
To download and access apps and games that are rated 18+ (for adult audiences) via Microsoft Store and Xbox storefronts, users will soon be prompted to simply and securely confirm they are over 18 years old.
Microsoft users in Singapore will have multiple options to complete age assurance for our stores, giving people flexibility while prioritising privacy. Users will be able to verify their age through Singpass, secure facial age estimation using a selfie, or by uploading an official government ID such as a national ID, driver’s license, passport, or residence permit.
Users will begin to see these updates implemented across Microsoft and Xbox storefronts in the coming weeks.
