Indonesia at the Forefront of AI: Stepping onto the Microsoft AI Skills Fest Global Stage
Read in Indonesian here.
Indonesia stands at a pivotal moment. With more than 230 million internet users and a digital economy expanding at one of the fastest rates in the region, AI is no longer a conversation about the future. Across the country, AI is already at work, in classrooms, in government offices, in private companies, in clinics, and at the small stalls run by Indonesia’s SMEs.
The question is straightforward: who is ready, and who will be left behind? For Indonesia, the answer cannot be that anyone is left behind. AI skills must be inclusive, accessible, and built on quality. Without people who are confident using AI, the country’s leap toward Indonesia Emas 2045 risks losing its momentum.
This commitment is not new for Microsoft. Through Microsoft Elevate — the company’s global skilling initiative and its local expression, elevAIte Indonesia, Microsoft is working alongside the Government of Indonesia toward an ambitious target: one million Indonesian AI talents. The foundation is reinforced by Microsoft’s USD 1.7 billion investment in cloud and AI infrastructure in Indonesia through 2028, including the Indonesia Central cloud region operational since 2024, and tangible workforce pipelines such as the Nusantara Datacenter Academy (NDCA).
The next milestone arrives this June: Microsoft AI Skills Fest 2026.
Microsoft AI Skills Fest is Microsoft’s largest virtual AI skilling festival of the year. Running from June 8 to 12, 2026, the event is fully free and online and open to developers, civil servants, students, business leaders, educators, and anyone just beginning their AI journey.
Over five days, participants can join Mainstage Sessions with Microsoft’s global AI experts, follow role-based playlists tailored to their profession, tune in to daily LinkedIn LIVE conversations, take on the Agents League Hackathon for developers, and attend certification exam prep sessions led by expert instructors.
Beyond the learning, participants can unlock real rewards:
- Sweepstakes prizes, including a VIP experience at Microsoft Ignite 2026, Microsoft’s flagship annual conference.
- Early registration bonus: Sign up before June 8, 2026 and receive two sweepstakes entries.
- Credly digital badges for every featured playlist completed, ready to display on LinkedIn.
