From Coder to Creator: MISA elevates Tech talent with GitHub Copilot
As a project manager for digital solutions firm MISA, Pham Tien Thanh Dat used to spend about three hours of his working day on repetitive tasks like debugging code and data validation. Since June 2025 however, he has been assisted by GitHub Copilot and its agentic capabilities to automate many of these tasks and helps him write cleaner code quicker.
“Copilot is an intelligent assistant, a companion that helps me code 30–50% faster. Its ability to suggest clean code, automate repetitive tasks, and especially the agent mode that can analyze an entire project and even fix bugs, has truly taken my programming experience to a new level. Besides, I can interact with GitHub Copilot in natural language, like a real colleague, helping me understand the code more deeply,” said Pham Tien Thanh Dat, AMIS OneAI project manager at MISA. Now, he gets to spend more time to build new functions or review and optimize system issues instead.
MISA, a Vietnamese software company providing digital solutions in finance, marketing, and human resources to 270,000 corporate clients and 3.5 million individual customers, has rolled out Github Copilot to 450 coders as of July 2025. The company estimates each coder saves about 16 hours per week as a result.
Currently, GitHub Copilot generates up to 80% of the code for MISA’s new applications; this figure is about 30% for existing applications. The company has seen average productivity of programmers increase by over 40%, with some individuals working at 2.5 to 3 times their previous speed.
This means MISA can develop and deliver software to its customers faster. For example, the first version of its AMIS OneAI platform— a Make-in-Vietnam unified AI solution designed to make AI accessible, practical, and cost-effective for Vietnamese organizations and individuals—was able to launch in just two weeks, instead of one or two months. And the time saved for its coders is now better spent on researching new technology and creating new solutions.
According to MISA’s Chief Technology Officer Nguyen Thanh Tung, programmers are encouraged to sharpen their skills in solution-oriented thinking, AI, cloud computing, and teamwork. They are no longer limited to the role of “code writers,” but have become influential voices in the product creation process—a shift that aligns with the global trend of coders transforming into solution creators.
“Applying AI is not just a matter of technology; above all, it’s a story about people. At MISA, we see AI as a companion, helping programmers unleash their creativity and become solution creators. Companies that dare to adopt AI early gain a distinct advantage in speed, quality, and competitiveness and MISA is ready to share its experience so that the community can harness this power effectively and sustainably,” said Nguyen Thanh Tung.
MISA now plans to roll out GitHub Copilot to all 1,000 of its coders next year. The company also plans to implement Microsoft 365 with a focus on security and data loss prevention. The goal is not only to optimize operations but also to build a modern working environment where people and technology grow in tandem.
