Microsoft Switzerland once again named Most Attractive Employer in the category “Internet, Telecommunications and IT”

Handelszeitung and PME, in cooperation with the market research company Statista, have named the “Best Employers 2026” in Switzerland. Microsoft Switzerland once again ranks first in the category “Internet, Telecommunications and IT” for the fourth time.

Zurich, 12 February 2026: The “Best Employers” ranking in Switzerland is published annually by Handelszeitung, PME and Statista. It is based on an independent online survey of more than 15,000 employees who evaluate their employers. In the 2026 ranking, Microsoft Switzerland takes first place in the category “Internet, Telecommunications and IT”, placing the company among the most popular employers in Switzerland.

Catrin Hinkel, CEO of Microsoft Switzerland, said: “This recognition underscores that a strong company culture is the decisive driver of innovation. When people work in an environment of trust, diversity, and continuous learning, it creates the foundation for sustainable success. This is how, together with customers and partners, we can deploy new technologies such as artificial intelligence responsibly – rooted in a clear commitment to Switzerland’s innovation capacity and its future readiness.”

Microsoft is committed to strengthening AI skills in Switzerland. In June last year, as part of its long-term commitment—spanning infrastructure and skilling— Microsoft announced a USD 400 million investment to further strengthen cloud and AI capabilities across the country. This includes the goal of supporting one million people in Switzerland in building AI skills by 2027; more than 400,000 have already been reached. At the same time, the investment provides the foundation for organizations to adopt AI responsibly—with control over data and operations and local data residency.

Microsoft Switzerland fosters a culture in which collaboration and continuous learning are at the core. Flexible working models, diverse development opportunities, and a strong commitment to inclusion and diversity ensure that employees can fully realize their potential and actively contribute to the company’s ongoing development.

This culture of innovation is also reflected in everyday work. In 2026, Microsoft Switzerland places a particular focus on the responsible advancement of AI. Together with customers, concrete use cases are being developed, such as the deployment of AI agents that support workflows and relieve employees of routine processes. This creates time for higher-value tasks, while keeping people and the responsible use of technology at the center. According to a study, employees gain on average up to two hours per day thanks to AI – twice as much as just one year ago.

Methodology: Handelszeitung, PME and Statista publish an annual ranking of Switzerland’s “Best Employers.” For the 2026 ranking, the score is based on more than 200,000 employee assessments collected through multiple channels, including an online survey and an online access panel with a representative sample of more than 15,000 employees (May–July 2025); prior-year data are also included with a lower weighting.
