Microsoft’s Israel GM Alon Haimovich will be stepping down from his position on 31st May 2026, after four years as GM. Haimovich will embark on a new professional path in the fields of technology and artificial intelligence. Under his leadership, the Microsoft team in Israel has built deep expertise in recruiting and developing digital-native customers and consistently demonstrated strong growth. During his tenure, Microsoft Israel became one of the three fastest-growing countries within its peer countries cluster across the company, achieved a number of standout milestones  and drove a shift toward Frontier AI leadership. Haimovich joined Microsoft seven years ago as Public Sector Lead, before taking on the role of General Manager.

In a letter sent to the company's employees in Israel, he wrote: "Microsoft, and Microsoft Israel in particular, have shaped both my professional and personal journey since the day I joined in 2019. Together, we built something truly meaningful, steering through complexity and change, positioning Israel as one of Microsoft’s fastest-growing markets worldwide. We accelerated cloud and AI adoption, launched local cloud infrastructure, strengthened our cybersecurity work, and reinforced Microsoft’s role as the strategic platform for startups across Israel. But above all these achievements, one thing defines Microsoft Israel more than anything else: the people."

Microsoft will announce Alon’s successor in due course.

מנכ"ל מיקרוסופט ישראל, אלון חיימוביץ', יסיים את תפקידו ב-31 במאי 2026, לאחר ארבע שנים בתפקיד המנכ"ל. חיימוביץ' ייצא לדרך מקצועית חדשה בתחומי הטכנולוגיה והבינה המלאכותית. תחת הנהגתו, צוות מיקרוסופט בישראל בנה מומחיות עמוקה בגיוס ופיתוח לקוחות Digital Native והציג באופן עקבי צמיחה משמעותית.

במהלך כהונתו, הפכה מיקרוסופט ישראל לאחת משלוש המדינות בעלות שיעור הצמיחה הגבוה ביותר מקרב המדינות המקבילות לה, השיגה מספר אבני דרך בולטות והובילה מעבר לעמדת מובילות בתחום ה-Frontier AI. חיימוביץ' הצטרף למיקרוסופט לפני שבע שנים כראש תחום המגזר הציבורי, ובהמשך מונה למנכ"ל.

במכתב ששלח לעובדי החברה בישראל כתב: "מיקרוסופט, ומיקרוסופט ישראל בפרט, עיצבו הן את המסע המקצועי שלי והן את האישי מאז היום שבו הצטרפתי בשנת 2019. יחד בנינו משהו משמעותי באמת, תוך ניווט דרך מורכבויות ושינויים, ומיצבנו את ישראל כאחד השווקים הצומחים ביותר של מיקרוסופט בעולם. האצנו את אימוץ הענן והבינה המלאכותית, השקנו תשתיות ענן מקומיות, חיזקנו את פעילות הסייבר שלנו, וביססנו את מעמדה של מיקרוסופט כפלטפורמה אסטרטגית עבור סטרטאפים ברחבי ישראל. אך מעל לכל ההישגים הללו, דבר אחד מגדיר את מיקרוסופט ישראל יותר מכל: האנשים."
