Iwona Szylar named new general manager of Microsoft Poland

Iwona Szylar will join Microsoft in mid-May as the general manager of the Polish team. She will oversee the organization during a period of rapid advancement in artificial intelligence and cloud computing adoption, thereby contributing to enhancing the country’s economic competitiveness. By leveraging Microsoft’s investments in Polish cloud infrastructure, AI, cybersecurity, and the development of digital competences along with technological expertise gained in strategic positions, she will assist Polish businesses in the AI transformation process.

The newly appointed General Manager is a distinguished leader with extensive international experience in developing and implementing business strategies. She excels in creating diverse and inclusive teams that foster innovation and drive organizational growth. Her expertise seamlessly integrates strategic competencies with a profound understanding of value-based organizational culture.

In her most recent role, SAS General Manager Germany, she was responsible for the strategy and development of the company’s German analytics and artificial intelligence business. Previously, she led SAS’s operations in Australia and New Zealand, and served as Director of Strategy for Asia Pacific and emerging markets in Europe and the Middle East. She also gained knowledge in other industries, including FMCG, at companies such as Toshiba, Georgia Pacific and Tchibo.

Iwona Szylar possesses a Master’s degree in Science from the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow. Additionally, she has completed Executive Management programs at both IESE Business School and Harvard Business School.
