‘You’re hired!’: Microsoft partnership with Mercury set to reshape recruitment

Mercury, an award-winning software company specialising in recruitment and staffing, has formed a strategic, multi-year alliance with Microsoft aimed at shaking up the recruitment industry.

The agreement will give Mercury and its agency clients access to the power of Microsoft’s Cloud and AI technologies, enabling them to disrupt the hiring journey and markedly enhance their ability to search, match, and hire the best candidates.

Chris Kendrick, Mercury Founder and CEO, said: “We work in an industry that embraces technology but continues to operate the same way it always has, with lots of manual input and processes.

“We have already used tech to drive out inefficiencies and automate activity, but what truly excites us about our work with Microsoft is the game-changing capabilities that bring the biggest digital disruption the staffing profession has seen in decades.”

Removing barriers

Timo Lehne, CEO of Mercury client SThree, said: “Mercury’s platform, powered by Microsoft, is helping to transform operations at SThree by removing data barriers and improving collaboration across our global teams.

“With automated and streamlined workflows, our recruiters can focus more on personal interactions, fostering stronger relationships and delivering greater value.

“The combination of Mercury, Microsoft and our own platform extensions allows us to provide recommendations and insights that support and inform our decision-making, aiming for the highest service provision for our clients and candidates.”

AI-powered shake-up

As part of the partnership, Mercury and Microsoft are making a substantial commitment to Cloud computing services and AI capability in the staffing sector. This will deliver AI-powered tools that will help medium and large staffing and recruitment firms:

  • exponentially increase consultant capacity
  • enhance new business development
  • improve fill rates, with a significant decrease in candidate submissions.

These capabilities will significantly enhance all aspects of the recruitment process.

Mercury’s platform, built on Microsoft’s Power Platform, already integrates with essential recruitment tools like LinkedIn and Microsoft Teams.

“The staffing world is ripe for an AI-powered shake-up, and our partnership with Microsoft will allow us to deliver game-changing innovations,” said Chris.

“By seamlessly blending Microsoft’s frontier AI and our deep staffing expertise, we will help recruiters amplify their capacity and effectiveness to levels previously unattainable.”
