Microsoft and SENAI-SP have entered into a cooperation agreement to train 50,000 people in cybersecurity by the end of 2026. The announcement was made this Tuesday (9) in São Paulo during a meeting between Lisa Monaco, President of Global Affairs at Microsoft, and Emerson Costa Santos, SENAI-SP Unit Director. Created by Microsoft and implemented by SENAI-SP, the CyBR program will expand digital security training for teachers and students within the SENAI network, as well as external participants.
The project will be divided into stages, one includes advanced training for teachers in Cybersecurity Architecture (SC-100), Security Operations Analysis (SC-200), Identity and Access Administration (SC-300), and Microsoft Azure Security. These teachers will then disseminate knowledge to their students. Another component involves creating an online course available on SENAI-SP’s learning platform, open to both enrolled students and the general public. The content will cover cybersecurity and cyber hygiene fundamentals, combining theory, practical activities, and digital resources.

The course will provide a comprehensive approach to digital security, starting with essential practices for online protection, such as creating strong passwords, using multi-factor authentication, safeguarding personal data and privacy, and strategies to identify scams, fraud, and phishing attacks. Inspired by the SC-900 certification (Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals), the content will present core principles of security, compliance, and identity in the cloud, including Zero Trust concepts, identity and access management, threat protection, data governance, and privacy. Participants will also learn best practices for securing devices, performing backups, updating systems, and adopting ethical behavior in digital citizenship. Through simulations and hands-on exercises, they will apply acquired knowledge to prevent risks and ensure safer online experience.
According to a Brasscom report, Brazil ranks 12th in the global cybersecurity market and is expected to invest R$104.6 billion between 2025 and 2028. In 2023, the country recorded 60 billion attempted cyberattacks, and demand for professionals in the field is growing 16.1% annually, highlighting the sector’s strong employability potential.
“This initiative reinforces our commitment to preparing young people for the challenges of the digital era. By equipping them with these cyber skills, we are enabling them to thrive safely in today’s digital world”, said Lisa Monaco, President of Global Affairs at Microsoft.

According to Emerson Costa Santos, SENAI-SP Unit Director, this collaboration marks an important milestone by offering training in cybersecurity and digital citizenship. “We are creating real opportunities for young people and adults, strengthening employability and contributing to a safer and more competitive Brazil”, he emphasized.
The initiative is part of Microsoft Brazil’s ConectAI program, which aims to train 5 million Brazilians in artificial intelligence by 2027. To date, more than 2.5 million people have already been trained.
