Saudi Airlines, one of the largest airlines in the Middle East, has chosen Microsoft SQL Server 2012, Power BI for Office 365, Windows Server 2012 and Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 to analyze, visualize and share data in a unified way.

In a recently released white paper, Microsoft’s partners offer first-person accounts of what the SharePoint experience has been like for them and their customers over the years. They also explain why they rely on SharePoint as their go-to platform for their life sciences applications.
The site is now optimized for mobile devices, so that “people walking down the street looking for something to do on a Saturday afternoon can pull up the SAM site, become really intrigued by what they see, and decide spur of the moment to visit the museum,” said Roberto Yglesias, business technology director at Buildingi, a local company that helped create the SharePoint-powered site.
As customers gather this week for the SharePoint Conference in Las Vegas and Convergence in Atlanta, they received an update on Microsoft’s enterprise social vision and road map — including three new social experiences designed to help companies work like a network.
As Office Blogs reports, SP1 includes performance, reliability and security improvements. It’s going to be easier for SharePoint 2013 on-premises customers to use OneDrive for Business in the cloud alongside their existing SharePoint deployment. Also, customers can replace the out-of-the-box SharePoint 2013 social experience (Newsfeed) with Yammer.
