“The recent addition of Office 365 Personal for individual users ensures that Office is truly available and accessible to everyone – from large corporations with thousands of users to families and individual customers,” said Panjaporn Vittayalerdpun, Microsoft Office Business Group Lead, Microsoft (Thailand) Limited. “We see Office as an ever-evolving platform, and this has driven us to improve the product continuously. With IDC data indicating new shipments of 11.7 million smartphones, 3 million tablets, and 2.6 million PCs in Thailand, the market is more ready than ever for a true multi-device experience. Office 365 Home and Personal subscribers will enjoy 1 terabyte of cloud storage on OneDrive – up from 20 gigabytes – while mobile users can access and edit their documents on all platforms with Office for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone.”

A Microsoft study on business productivity reveals that approximately 49% of all work in a modern office is dependent on a network connection, although 80% of employees have yet to achieve optimum effectiveness in collaboration. Similarly, 62% of surveyed organizations said that they had been unable to efficiently turn data into insights for decision making – all while the amount of data flowing throughout the globe increases by 40% annually.

Through Power BI, a cloud-based business intelligence service that works with Microsoft Excel, anyone in the organization can discover, analyze, and visualize data in new ways before sharing their insights with others to make better business decisions. Collaboration solutions like Lync and SharePoint provide users with simple yet powerful ways to communicate and share. Meanwhile, business and home Office 365 users alike now have access to 1 terabyte of space on OneDrive for Business and OneDrive.

“On top of innovative cloud-based features, Office 365 also offers users full control over their data and none of the security or privacy concerns affecting ad-supported cloud services,” Panjaporn added. “Our goal is to enable customers to do their best work on their own terms, and we do not consider it acceptable to turn customer data into a commodity.”

Today, there are more than 1 billion Office users across all editions of the suite. Thailand boasts an Office user base of 14 million as well as the fastest growth rate in Office 365 subscriptions across the entire Asia-Pacific region.

Over the past year, the number of commercial Office 365 seats worldwide almost doubled as businesses everywhere turn to the cloud for enhanced performance. Among the millions of new users is Diethelm Travel (Thailand), a leading tour operator providing services in 12 markets across Asia.

Busakorn Suraratana, Business Systems Manager, Diethelm Travel (Thailand) Limited, said, “We have been very satisfied with the transition to Office 365. Our users can now work no matter where they are with their own mobile devices, and the cloud-based infrastructure has led to significant savings in monthly disaster recovery site rentals, electricity costs, and security solution subscriptions.”

“With the Microsoft cloud handling our infrastructure and support needs, our IT staff can focus their efforts on developing and supporting applications instead of performing maintenance work on email and server systems,” Busakorn continued. “We are currently integrating OneDrive for Business into our operations, while Lync and Yammer are being piloted as new ways to communicate across the organization.”
