2014 – Microsoft is setting the stage for a new category of devices in the Thai market with the launch of the Surface Pro 3 – the tablet that can replace your laptop. Designed to deliver all the capabilities of a full PC in the profile of a sleek, lightweight tablet, the Surface Pro 3 is available now at BaNANA IT and IT City stores across Thailand.
The Surface Pro 3 brings together the key qualities of tablets and laptops, making for a device that fulfills productivity and leisure needs like no other. Weighing in at just 800 grams, the Surface Pro 3’s 9.1mm-thin body houses the full power of a 4th-generation Intel® Core™ processor – making it the thinnest and lightest PC ever made while still providing up to nine hours of web-browsing battery life. The new, continuous kickstand can adjust to any angle up to 150 degrees, while the 12-inch, Full HD Plus display and stereo speakers with Dolby® Audio enhanced sound combine to deliver an audiovisual experience of stunning clarity.
The Surface Pen, capable of detecting 256 levels of pressure, presents a premium drawing and note-taking experience to rival pen and paper. The Surface Pro Type Cover (sold separately) transforms the tablet into a full-function laptop with a simple snap. With Windows 8.1 Pro, the Surface Pro 3 offers users a rich ecosystem that covers millions of Windows desktop applications and over 155,000 touch-optimized apps on the Windows Store.

Khoobchandani
, Managing Director, Microsoft (Thailand) Limited, said, “As the productivity and platform company for a mobile-first, cloud-first world, Microsoft is working to create the best digital work and life experiences. Our Windows platform, which boasts more than 1.5 billion users worldwide, now covers a wide array of innovative device form factors and screen sizes. With the Surface Pro 3, we are bringing to the market a no-compromise device that has the balance and mobility of a tablet and the performance and functionality of a laptop, empowering users to do more and be more.”
A survey of 400 working professionals in Thailand commissioned by Microsoft found that 85% of Thai users rely exclusively on their laptops for work and only turn to tablets for leisure – the highest percentage in the eight surveyed Asia-Pacific countries. With three out of four Thai professionals owning three or more devices and 58% still carrying both a laptop and a tablet, there is clear demand for new devices that seamlessly deliver productivity, communication, and even entertainment capabilities in a highly mobile package.
“Our modern, converged life presents challenges that only a truly convergent device can overcome,” added Ekaraj Panjavinin, Consumer Channel Group Lead, Microsoft (Thailand) Limited. “The Surface Pro 3 is our answer to this dilemma. It is designed to take the most advantage of the power of Windows and seamlessly work with Microsoft’s world-class services like Office 365, OneDrive, and Skype. As the ultimate device to bridge the gap between work and leisure, the Surface Pro 3 enjoyed a very strong reception from consumers in the pre-order phase, making it the fastest-selling Surface device so far in Thailand.”
