“IDC expects the public cloud market in APAC territories to reach $8.6 billion in value by 2015. Mobile application use in the workplace will double in the same year, and $68 billion will be spent on devices in APAC by 2017,” said Alvaro Celis, Vice President of the Sales, Marketing, Services, IT, & Operations Group (SMSG), Microsoft Asia Pacific. “Microsoft is working closely with more than 14,000 partners in Asia Pacific to help our customers turn these tremendous technological opportunities into enhanced performance at reduced costs, and this has driven the growth of our cloud services to 4.2 times the APAC market growth rate.”

“Thailand is no exception when it comes to cloud momentum. The country is poised to become a part of the ASEAN Economic Community, and we are working with a network of 1,800 partners in Thailand to drive and inspire customer successes in many key sectors – including tourism and hospitality, which generated 20.2% of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) last year. Our collaboration with Mverge, a long-term partner, has succeeded in driving Dusit International, a leading hospitality group in Asia, to achieve an unprecedented degree of business agility and efficiency, allowing the group to further uphold its high standards of service, strengthen guest loyalty, and propel a top Thai brand to the world stage,” he added.

“At Dusit, delivering best services to our guests is our top priority,” said Srisombat Wangchin, Assistant Vice President, Information Technology, Dusit International. “Mobile and cloud technologies now play a major role in many facets of our customers’ lives, and the hospitality sector is required to integrate these advances into operations management processes. With the Microsoft Cloud, we are able to take advantage of these technologies in ways that enhance our capabilities to deliver the best services and expand on an international level without compromising data security and privacy.”

Founded in 1948, Dusit International currently operates an international portfolio of distinctive hotels and resorts across four brands. With a business structure that spans countries and continents, connectivity and collaboration are at the core of the group’s excellence.

Equipped with an IT infrastructure supported from top to bottom by Microsoft’s solutions, Dusit International is now able to securely share information such as guest preferences or interaction history across its entire chain of hotels and resorts. Cloud-based productivity suite Office 365, which incorporates world-class communication and collaboration tools such as Lync and SharePoint, allows Dusit employees to be productive and responsive anytime, anywhere and on virtually any device, while database management solution SQL Server and ERP software Dynamics NAV provide a data-driven operations platform that keeps the group abreast of every situation.

Anukul Piyatananukul, General Manager, Mverge Co., Ltd., said, “Our success story with Dusit International spans more than seven years, and we have been a Microsoft partner for more than 10 years. Microsoft is the sole cloud vendor to offer a full range of solutions for public, private and hybrid cloud setups, and no other vendor has received certifications from all 28 national data protection authorities in the European Union. In addition to leadership in technology and security, Microsoft is also able to prime partners like Mverge for growth in a market that is undergoing rapid transformation with the rise of the cloud.”

“Earlier this year, we selected Mverge as our Partner of the Year in Thailand, making them one of the 96 national-level winners from around the world. This was followed by another honor at the 2014 Thailand Partner Awards, where Mverge was named the Office 365 Partner of the Year,” added Alvaro Celis. “We are delighted to be able to deliver genuine business transformation through a healthy partner ecosystem. Microsoft wins only if partners do. For every $1 we earn in Thailand, partners can generate $12 or more in revenue, and we are confident that this partner network will continue to make significant contributions to the economy.”

The Microsoft Partner Network encompasses 430,000 registered partners worldwide, making it the largest IT partner ecosystem in the world. In fiscal year 2014 (July 2013 to June 2014) the company invested $140 million worldwide in its partners.
