Microsoft showcases capabilities of AI Copilot to empower businesses at Thailand’s First AI Summit event

BANGKOK, November 21, 2023 – Microsoft hosted its first-ever AI Summit event in Thailand under the concept of “Leading the Era of AI” to showcase the fast-growing capabilities of artificial intelligence and its role as an intelligent assistant that enhances an organization’s ability to operate and succeed in a challenging and unpredictable environment. Today, AI-driven innovations such as Copilot for Microsoft 365 and Azure OpenAI Service are already enhancing efficiency, creativity, and agility for businesses in Thailand and beyond.

The Microsoft AI Summit featured special presentations on AI adoption in the business sector as well as conversations with leading Thai organizations – including the likes of AIS, Siam Commercial Bank, and PTT Exploration and Production (PTTEP) – who participated in the Copilot for Microsoft 365 Early Access Program (EAP) to demonstrate tangible success in leveraging AI to transform operations. Buzzebees, InnovestX, and PTT Global Chemical (GC) meanwhile, shared their experience in using Azure OpenAI Service to create innovations that extend the company’s capabilities with the power of AI.

A survey of Copilot business users across 41 countries worldwide found that:

  • 70% of Copilot users said they were more productive, and 68% felt it improved the quality of their work.
  • On average, Copilot users were 29% faster at tasks such as searching, writing, and summarizing.
  • Copilot users could catch up on key points from meetings they missed nearly 4 times faster.
  • 64% of users said Copilot helped them spend less time processing email. 85% said they could get a good first draft of documents faster, and 75% said Copilot helped them save time by finding what they need in their documents.
  • 77% of Copilot users do not want to give it up.

Copilot for Microsoft 365 has been available to enterprise customers worldwide since November 1, 2023, working in conjunction with everyday applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams to add numerous intelligent capabilities. Key features include:

  • Outlook offers email summarization, message drafting in desired formats and tones, and convenient meeting follow-ups via Teams.
  • Word helps summarize document content, draft new documents, and assist in formatting.
  • Excel can help analyze data, recommend formulas, and create appropriate visuals or charts.
  • PowerPoint can suggest slide designs based on specified topics and content.
  • OneNote provides deeper insights from efficient recaps of existing notes.
  • Teams help summarize essential content and action items from meetings.
  • Stream improves in-depth information search from video content and meeting recordings.
  • OneDrive assists users in efficiently and quickly searching for relevant information within documentss.
