Microsoft’s SMEs AI Skills Summit: Empowering Thai SMEs with AI Skills to Unlock Possibilities and Drive Greater Success

Microsoft hosted the SMEs AI Skills Summit to enable small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Thailand transform their operations and gain a competitive advantage through the power of AI. The summit highlighted Microsoft 365 Copilot, designed as a valuable AI assistant for SMEs, and featured insights from leaders across the public and private sectors, showcasing successful AI implementation strategies, and hands-on AI skills training by experts. SMEs and interested individuals can access free AI skills training in Thai on the AI Skills Navigator platform.
Attendees at the event gained valuable insights from leading business executives who shared their success stories on leveraging AI to enhance operations. For example, TRIS Rating, Thailand’s leading credit rating agency, has integrated Microsoft 365 Copilot to generate accurate and relevant content for credit rating assessments, reducing workload and improving communication efficiency. Meanwhile, K-Fresh, a top Thai coconut water exporter, utilizes Copilot as a personal consultant to navigate international trade regulations, manage oversupply challenges, optimize groundwater usage, and facilitate seamless multilingual communication within the company. In addition, participants had the opportunity to learn essential AI skills from industry experts, including an introduction to Microsoft 365 Copilot, creating AI agents in Microsoft Copilot Studio, and understanding Microsoft Azure AI - a suite of AI solutions designed specifically for enterprises, built on real-world insights from global customers.

According to the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP), there were over 3.2 million SMEs representing 99.5% of all enterprises in Thailand. Developing AI skills is therefore critical for strengthening the country’s economic foundation in the digital age. Microsoft hence organized the SMEs AI Skills Summit to equip businesses with AI capabilities, in collaboration with Digital Council for Economy and Society of Thailand, Federation of Thai Industries, LiVE Exchange, Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Bank of Thailand, Thai Chamber of Commerce and Board of Trade of Thailand.
