Microsoft Australia today announced the appointment of Mr Evan Williams as Small to Medium Business and Partner Group Director.
In this role, Mr Williams will work with Microsoft’s business group leaders to drive sales and marketing efforts and provide comprehensive business solutions for small to midmarket business customers. He will also oversee Microsoft Australia’s channel strategy, supporting its 14,000 partner network that creates a range of solutions to help customers meet their unique business needs. Mr Williams moves into the role that was vacated by Mr Paul Voges who will be leaving the company at the end of August to pursue new business opportunities.
“Evan comes to this role from managing the Communications Sector team, during this time he has been instrumental in our mobility business, transforming the Telstra Alliance and building a great Hosting Partner team that is at the leading edge of our cloud transformation journey” said Pip Marlow, Managing Director, Microsoft Australia. “I look forwards to working closer with Evan as he joins the senior leadership team at Microsoft Australia.”
Mr Williams has worked at Microsoft Australia for just under one year. Prior to this appointment he was the Communication Sector Director for Microsoft Australia – responsible for selling with and to Australia’s major Telecommunication and Media Entertainment companies. He has more than 21 years’ experience in the information technology industry, including senior management positions with Dell and IBM prior to Microsoft.

Mr Williams is a 1988 graduate of Macquarie University in Sydney where he earned a Bachelor of Economics and a 1998 Graduate of the Macquarie Graduate School of Management where he earned a Masters of Business Administration Degree.
