Euclideon plans world’s largest geospatial data platform on Microsoft Azure, accelerates innovation opportunity

Cloud based service visualises a petabyte of data per second

Leading 3D data specialist Euclideon has signed a strategic partnership with Microsoft and unveiled plans to build the world’s largest geospatial data platform – featuring more than 100 petabytes of 3D data – on the Azure cloud.

Euclideon will this month launch its visualisation as a service (VaaS) platform, leveraging its high speed udStream 3D render technology which is able to visualise petabytes of data within a second, which will be hosted on Microsoft Azure. This ensures a high performance, resilient platform allowing enterprises across multiple sectors to leverage 3D data in order to optimise business processes and develop new products and services.

The global geospatial analytics market was valued at $US58 Billion in 2019. Fast growth of 14.2 per cent a year is predicted until 2027 when the market is tipped to be worth more than $US158 Billion as organisations make increased use of 3D data, including their own IoT sourced information. Applications range from business process optimisation, smart cities, to the creation of digital twins.

Using 3D data to localise as well as personalise services opens the door to whole new classes of products and customer experiences for all sectors.

Early adoptersof 3D data and visualisation platforms include transport, resources, military, education and new emerging sectors, while Governments recognise VaaS as providing an opportunity to streamline access to open data sets. International organisations including Thales Group, Transport and Main Roads Queensland BHP Billiton, UNSW, Canada’s City of Richmond, France’s SNCF and Lockheed Martin in US already use Euclideon’s technology.

Daniel Zhang, Euclideon CEO, said; “3D data represents the biggest big data – Euclideon works with organisations across multiple sectors to help them manage and visualise their growing 3D data collections. This is fundamental for applications such as digital twins or smart cities, and we are developing innovative tools and services to help maximise the value that customers can reap from their data.

Hosting in Azure ensures we have the performance, scalability and trusted security that we and our customers need and also positions us for rapid expansion here in Australia, and internationally.

“It also opens the door to multiple Azure services that will help us accelerate innovation for our customers.”

Euclideon’s Azure based udCloud provides an on-demand cloud-based solution for managing, distributing and visualising massive 3D datasets. In conjunction with Euclideon udStream which offers real-time, dynamic web viewing tools for unlimited streamed data visualisation on any standard desktop or laptop worldwide, Euclideon opens the door to a new era of 3D-powered innovation.

With Microsoft Azure providing the cloud foundations for its services, Euclideon is able to offer global ‘best in class’ 3D data storage with security and privacy built in, at a very cost competitive price.

Phil Goldie, SMC Lead, Microsoft Australia said; “Euclideon has established an enviable reputation at the very forefront of 3D data management and visualisation.

With Euclideon’s udCloud and udStream powered by Azure, it can offer world leading 3D services that will accelerate innovation along with the peace of mind that comes from Azure’s in-built security and privacy, as well as exceptional value.

“We are proud to partner with Euclideon, and also to explore opportunities for ongoing collaboration between our two organisations.”
