Sinergija 20 – The future is in education

Sinergija 20. Digital. Since Always.

In two conference days, the twentieth in a row Sinergija, the largest regional IT conference, was held last week with excellent audience response. Over 2600 online visitors have been registered, which indicates the audience’s great interest in the digital format and quality content.

This year’s conference, titled “Sinergija 20. Digital. Since Always.”, had the central BusinessandIT segment, numerous technical sessions, and a special segment dedicated to education.

The conference’s first day offered interesting keynote presentations by Microsoft representatives and local experts through an eight-hour program. In the central BusinessandIT segment, through 10 different sessions, the audience was addressed by 15 speakers, including representatives of state institutions, economists, Microsoft experts from the country and the world, as well as local – regional entrepreneurs. The experiences and possibilities that the IT industry offers in solving the current economic crisis were presented, as well as future steps in the development of the profession. Demand for IT staff and investment in their education, continued digitalization at all levels, and further growth of the IT industry were the points around which the participants of the BusinessandIT segment agreed.

For Microsoft, 2020 has had two significant contributions to society. As an experienced IT company, we have had the opportunity to help the education sector and contribute to the digitalization of the school system with our solutions. The second was to organize Sinergija 20 in the digital format. For us, investing in education is key to the future. Every year at Sinergija, we, as an industry, set new challenges, and I believe that stronger connecting of education and the economy, as well as data monetization, are something we should strive for in 2021,” said Zeljko Vujinovic, director of Microsoft in Serbia.

In the technical part of the program on the first day of the conference, 27 lecturers participated in 24 lectures, which registered conference participants could follow on several parallel Teams channels. They had the opportunity to hear speeches of top experts in Microsoft technologies on the following topics: the latest and greatest from the Cloud, changing skills in a hybrid infrastructure, infrastructure management, security and development of hybrid computing infrastructure, and application development without coding.

On the second day of the conference, the topic of education was opened following the hybrid learning model trends. 9 EDU sessions and 30 technical sessions were held. At the same time, 33 lecturers presented themselves to the audience. The introduction to the topic of hybrid teaching in Serbia was given by high representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, the Ministry of Culture and Information, the University of Belgrade, UNICEF, and the Loop Foundation.

Through presentations of teachers and computer scientists working in primary, secondary and higher education in Serbia, a combination of the school environment’s best experiences and distance learning was presented, with the digitalization of the teaching process as a solution that enables progress and improvement of students’ knowledge.

Although the conference was organized in the digital format for the first time this year, the conference’s traditional interactive segments were present, so the participants of the highly attended technical lectures actively participated by asking questions to the lecturers through the Microsoft Teams platform. This year’s Sinergija 20 has been supported by 14 sponsors and partners.
