Microsoft India is seeing good demand for cloud-based IT solutions from SMBs with a large number of firms in the manufacturing sector migrating to the cloud. “We are adding 10,000 new customers every year in the SMB space,” said Manish Sharma, Lead, SMB Business, Microsoft India. The company is seeing a nearly 30% year-on-year increase in demand for cloud technologies from SMBs, he stated.

Open Source For You: Microsoft releases open source ReactXP

Microsoft has released the code of ReactXP, the library that has been helping its engineering teams develop cross-platform apps. ReactXP is based on React JS and React Native to let you develop apps that can run across multiple platforms and the Web using a single code base. “ReactXP was designed to be a thin, lightweight cross-platform abstraction layer on top of React and React Native. It implements a dozen or so foundational components that can be used to build more complex components,” says Eric Traut, technical fellow at Microsoft.

Gadgets 360: Microsoft Edge provides better battery life

The Windows 10 Creators Update has brought along improved battery life to its browser, which puts it ahead of its competitors. Microsoft released a video of the comparison test between Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox. In the video test, Microsoft three identical devices were made to run the same video but on different browsers. According to the results shared, Mozilla Firefox provided a battery life of 7 hours 4 minutes, Chrome managed 9 hours and 17 minutes, while Microsoft’s Edge, offered a battery life of 12 hours and 31 minutes.
