As Europe’s industrial companies attempt to modernize production with sensors and software, Microsoft Corp. is launching a new lab in Munich – following openings in Redmond, Washington and Shenzhen, China – for customers investing in the Internet of Things, the idea that everything from refrigerators to industrial robots will be connected to the web.

Microsoft announced that some new features will be added to its Skype for Business to simplify the calling property. Along with Auto Attendant and Call Queues, it also revealed a preview of a new tool called Call Analytics. This dashboard preview lets IT admins to quickly identify and also address all the call issues such as network issues or headset problems faced by the user.

Microsoft is currently testing its new AI chatbot named ‘Ruuh’ that is specifically meant for users in India but is available in English language only. Ruuh has been defined as a ‘desi’ AI chatbot by the company that never stops talking and is meant for entertainment purposes only.

Microsoft Philanthropies was created to bring the power of technology to help non-profits achieve their mission. Its aim is to make digital skills and computer science education accessible to all young people. It donates nearly $2 million every day in products and services to non-profits. “At Microsoft, we believe technology is a powerful force for improving people’s lives and solving India’s key challenges,” said Madhu Khatri, Associate General Counsel, Microsoft India.

The newest update for the Xbox One is now available, and it’s a big one, as it will be introducing Microsoft’s own livestreaming service, Beam, and integrating it into the system itself. That apart, the update also overhauls the Home menu, and makes the Guide a bit more intuitive and faster.

Microsoft is finally set to ship the next iteration of its desktop operating system to its users. Windows Creators Update, the free update is set to start rolling out globally on April 11. The update brings with it several changes to make your web browsing and gaming experience better. Creators Update will make tab management in Microsoft Edge much easier allowing you to preview visual thumbnails of the open tabs, set them aside instantly, and share the tabs with someone. The update also revisits privacy with Microsoft services and beam broadcasting technology of the upgrade helps you broadcast gameplay on Windows 10 and Xbox One.

Microsoft is finally rolling out an update for Cortana on Android that brings the ability to activate the assistant directly through the lock screen. This new feature allows users to access the Cortana digital assistant by just swiping left or right on the Android lock screen. With this, Microsoft is looking to make Cortana more accessible on Android smartphones.

Microsoft India is betting big on cyber security solutions for cloud adoption growth as Indian businesses seek better security. Radha Rajappa, Services Head, Microsoft India said that cyber security will be of core importance to Microsoft as they enable digital transformation of Indian business and Delhi-based Cybersecurity Engagement Center and global Digital Crimes Unit (DCU) will help organizations ensure security as they grow business.
