Microsoft has slashed the price of its new-generation gaming console, Xbox One (without Kinect), from Rs 39,990 to Rs 34,990, just ahead of the E3 trade show. The Xbox One bundles include the Xbox One console, which features a 500GB hard drive, Blu-ray player and built-in Wi-Fi, one Xbox One Wireless Controller and a free 14-day trial of Xbox Live Gold for new members.

The change of brand follows the Microsoft-Nokia deal in which Washington-based firm acquired the handset business of Finland-based Nokia for $7.2 billion. “In India itself it is a big change for us, which we are trying to offer as part of the Microsoft experience is concerned.” Nokia India Sales Director-South TS Sridhar said.

NDTV: Skype Translator Preview coming to Windows Desktop App this summer

Microsoft said Skype Translator Preview would now be reaching Skype for Windows desktop app by the “end of summer 2015”, roughly at the time of the Windows 10 launch on July 29. The firm announced that while Skype Translator Preview supports four spoken languages – English, Spanish, Italian and Mandarin, apart from 50 written instant messaging languages – it will “continue to expand the repertoire of languages” as soon as support meets its “quality standard”.

CIOL: HP readies PCs for Windows 10

HP announced that its currently shipping portfolio of Windows-based PCs are expected to be able to upgrade to Windows 10 when available on July 29, 2015. “Working closely with Microsoft, we designed all our 2015 products to be ready for Windows 10,” said Mike Nash, vice president, portfolio strategy and customer experience, Personal Systems, HP. “As a result, customers who purchased or plan to buy a 2015 Windows PC from HP should have a smooth transition to Windows 10.”
