CIO.in: Microsoft throws open the doors for Cloud Foundry on Azure

Cloud Foundry, the open source PaaS that’s become a major part of IBM’s Bluemix offering, is now showing up in an unlikely place: Microsoft Azure. In a blog post, Ning Kuang, senior program manager for Microsoft Azure, provided word of the first public preview of Cloud Foundry on Azure. In keeping with Microsoft’s ongoing pitch for Azure as a hybrid environment via Azure Service Fabric, the blog says it “enables our customers to deploy Cloud Foundry on Azure and extend their workloads from any public or private cloud to Azure.”

CIO.in: Lenovo’s new Windows 10 tablet to arrive in August

Lenovo will be one of the first to offer a Windows 10 tablet, with a new ThinkPad device that’s slated to arrive in August, aimed at business users and priced from $499. The ThinkPad 10 will be available with a choice of quad-core Intel Atom processors, either 2GB or 4GB of RAM, and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. It’s 10.1-inch screen will have a resolution of 1920 pixels by 1200, and battery life is up to 10 hours.

Microsoft is enacting policies for its Windows Store that are designed to make it easier for users to find quality apps, and also clamp down on developers who abuse keywords to take undue advantage of the Store’s search results. “When there are many apps that do not provide differentiated value, some may be removed from the Store,” Bernardo Zamora, a product manager on the Windows Apps and Store team, said in a blog post.
