Microsoft updated its Outlook email apps for the Android and iOS platforms with a list of new features like Unified Address Book and Search Directory, apart from Calendar improvements and more. The updated Microsoft Outlook apps for Android (version 1.1.5) and iOS (version 1.1.3) are available for download via their respective app stores.

NDTV: Microsoft updates Skype and Skype Qik apps with new features

Microsoft announced an update for Skype for Android and iOS, while also announcing an update for its Skype Qik video app with new video effects for the Android, iOS, and Windows Phone platforms. In Skype 5.3 for Android, Microsoft has made some ‘big changes’ under the chat section of the app. On the other hand, Skype 5.12 for iOS will be getting support for 12 new languages in the coming weeks, including Hindi.

ETCIO: HP launches enterprise-focused tablets

HP has launched eight new enterprise-focused mobile devices including Windows and Android tablets, 2-in-1 devices, and notebook PCs in the Indian market. The company’s Pro Slate 8 and Pro Slate 12 are high-definition screen-equipped commercial-grade Android tablets. The HP Elite x2 1011 G1, which has also been introduced as part of the new range, is a lightweight, 11.6-inch diagonal 2-in-1 Windows device running Windows 8 Pro.

Tech2: Microsoft expected to launch Lumia 640, 640 XL smartphones in India on 7 April

Microsoft unveiled Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL smartphones at MWC last month and is now ready to launch them in India. The company has sent out invites for a launch event on April 7. Sporting a 5-inch HD display, the Lumia 640 comes across as an upgrade to the Lumia 635, the company’s low-end LTE smartphone. The slightly higher-end Lumia 640 XL comes with a 5.7-inch display.

Microsoft launched a revolutionary new OS for their Lumia smartphone line, titled MS-DOS Mobile. The company says it’s trying to “go back to where productivity began for millions of people. As cloud computing enters the mainstream, 451 Research asked 1,700 customers of hosting and cloud service providers across 10 countries what they wanted to get out of their cloud resources, and what vendors, and their affiliated solution providers, were they likely to buy services from. The survey, “Beyond Infrastructure: Cloud 2.0 Signifies New Opportunities for Cloud Service Providers”, was commissioned by Microsoft.
