Being one of the earliest Malaysia based companies to provide public cloud services to the SME markets, they have maintained 100% network uptime record from 2014 up-till-today which remains its commitment. Adoption of Microsoft Cloud Platform Technologies
To respond to market needs, TheGigabit needed a Stable, Versatile, Secure and Flexible Platform in order to accelerate its business, solutions and services portfolio. To achieve this vision, TheGigabit engaged CloudFlex Consulting, a Malaysia based Microsoft System Integration partner to architect and design Microsoft’s end-to-end Software Defined Datacenter (SDDC) solution. CloudFlex Consulting is a specialist in ‘All things Microsoft cloud technologies’ with specific focus on Microsoft hosting cloud space. CloudFlex Consulting with its experience deploying 15+ Microsoft hosting clouds across APAC and NA, kick-started the journey to build a solution enabled with Microsoft Windows Server 2016, System Center 2016, SQL Server 2016 and Windows Azure Pack, that meets Gigabit’s core requirements such as self-service provisioning, end to end automation, capability to integrate with Azure public cloud services, seamless user experience, secure operations management of the platform.

Microsoft’s Cloud platform provides an end-to-end solution that backed by extensive support from the world class partner ecosystem. TheGigabit adopted Microsoft Cloud Platform technologies and leveraged the latest Software Defined Data Center technologies from the Microsoft Cloud platform, including Storage Replica, Network Function Virtualization and security features such Shielded VMs/Host Guardian services. In addition to these, Microsoft’s Global Availability enhanced their build robust service offerings.
Provisioning within Minutes instead of Days
Microsoft Windows and System Center 2016 based private cloud has helped reduce the time for TheGigabit to onboard customers, from 1-2 days to just a matter of minutes, powered by software defined networking, storage and Windows Azure pack self-service portal. TheGigabit is also able to save costs through Site to Site VPN, load balancers and firewall.
Optimized Linux and Windows VMs allow for higher hosting density in Windows Server 2016 and empower TheGigabit to strengthen its position as the leading web hosting company. Microsoft cloud platform has also enabled TheGigabit to optimize end customer’s database and streamline it to utilize SQL Database as a Service. This translates to major savings in terms of upfront payment for Licenses for end customers.
