Prosegur and Microsoft successfully complete the first year of their alliance in the field of digital transformation and co-innovation

  • In the field of co-innovation, this alliance has enabled Prosegur to launch intelligent 360º cameras with video analytics on Azure; to develop an IoT-based customer process monitoring solution; and to provide IoT connectivity and Artificial Intelligence to Yellow, the company’s robotic dog.
  • Prosegur, with the support of Microsoft, has completed the implementation of its teleworking and cybersecurity models, which already benefit more than 30,000 employees in 26 countries, and has begun the migration to Azure of more than 160 critical systems and applications.

Prosegur and Microsoft have successfully completed the first year of their long-term agreement, established with the aim of undertaking a deep process of modernization and digitization of the leading company in the private security sector in Spain. The project involves automating its processes, as well as increasing its connectivity, scalability and flexibility, which is enabling Prosegur to optimize its operations, implement a more collaborative model and achieve a more productive structure. Likewise, the alliance between the two companies is aimed at co-innovation and the generation of new products, as well as the training of Prosegur employees by Microsoft, as a fundamental axis of this transformation process.

In the field of co-innovation, Microsoft has collaborated with Prosegur to launch  intelligent 360º cameras with video analytics based on Azure. Today, more than 45,000 cameras are already linked to the Azure Cloud Video Analytics Platform. These developments in home security have helped GenzAI Home to register more than 10,000 active customers in less than three months. In addition, the use of the Alarms app has increased by 38% and the video functionality by 80%.

Its scalability is another technological challenge and, in this aspect, Prosegur has managed to get around 500 new customers a day to download the cloud app without any operational problems. In addition, it includes functions such as notification history with filters, customer support or direct connection to the remote repair service. These intelligent cameras strengthen Prosegur’s 360º alarm and security system  while the videos and audios provide useful information to other services such as Acuda, motorized assistance of a security guard service.

The alliance with Microsoft has also made possible the commercial launch of a customer Process Monitoring solution based on Azure IoT (Security, Operations Monitoring). With this, Prosegur can manage signals from different sources to provide Business Continuity services to its customers, control critical processes from its centers and alert in case of any incident.

In addition, Prosegur has incorporated Yellow, an intelligent robotic dog with IoT connectivity and Artificial Intelligence, into its event surveillance service. Yellow connects to Prosegur’s SOC (Security Operations Center) through GenzAI, its IoT and AI platform deployed in Azure, which provides intelligence to the robotic dog.

For Javier Cabrerizo, Global Managing Director of Prosegur, «The alliance with Microsoft is allowing us to accelerate the construction of our technological infrastructure and the incorporation of the necessary tools for the transformation of our activities. In this first year we have added video analytics capabilities to our alarms and security services, enabled IoT device connectivity and AI-enabled image processing in our security operations centers (SOCs), increased our cybersecurity protection measures, and continued to provide enhanced workplace capabilities to our 150,000 employees.»

Rebeca Marciel, Microsoft’s Enterprise Commercial Lead in Spain, noted: «For us, this year of working together with Prosegur has been a great learning experience in the way we co-create, set goals and define a path that meets the expectations of both parties. This collaboration model has allowed us to shorten the time it takes to use technology as a lever for transformation and innovation and has enabled both companies to generate new business.

New teleworking, cybersecurity and training models

Prosegur has completed the implementation of a teleworking model, based on the intensive use of Microsoft cloud collaboration tools (Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint and Windows 365 virtual desktops for teleworking, among others), which already benefits more than 30,000 employees in the 26 countries where the company is present.

In addition, Prosegur has reinforced its cybersecurity model, in which Microsoft tools and technologies are now intensively involved, such as the identity management and multifactor authentication (MFA) solution centralized in Azure; the Defender solution for PC cybersecurity management; Azure Security Center for Server cybersecurity management; and Microsoft Sentinel for CyberSoc alert management. It also includes Microsoft 365 Security for managing mail and Office document cybersecurity, as well as various Windows technologies that enhance cybersecurity and Windows 365 virtual desktops specifically designed for M&A deal development.

On the other hand, and as a result of the agreement between Prosegur and Microsoft, the migration to Azure of more than 160 systems and applications relevant to Prosegur has recently begun, including some critical applications in the provision of customer services such as SMART, the Prosegur Alarms app, or POPS, the Prosegur Security Operating Platform. It is worth highlighting the relevance of this migration process, since it is allowing a strong impulse in the development of different innovation projects.

Training has been an important focus in the first year of collaboration between Prosegur and Microsoft, as a fundamental axis for the development of the transformation project. Specifically, a total of 434 courses have been given through Microsoft Learn, aimed at personnel in the areas of IT, innovation and Cipher (Prosegur’s Cybersecurity business unit), both in Spain and in other countries where the company operates, and 140 certifications have been awarded.
