Microsoft’s new ultra-light Surface Pro is more powerful than ever

Microsoft’s newly unveiled Surface Pro is not only packing some serious power, but it’s also lighter than the bag you’ll carry it in.

Unveiled in Shanghai, the latest addition to the Surface family pushes design, engineering and performance to the limit, with a whole host of improvements and upgrades that’ll have tech fans drooling.

The new 12.3in Surface Pro is more than 2.5 times faster than the Surface Pro 3, despite its leaner 8.5mm-thin body and 0.7kg weight, and it throws in 50% more endurance to boot, boasting an impressive 13.5 hours of battery life.

In addition to the new Surface Pro, Microsoft also revealed an all-new Surface Pen which is twice as fast as the previous version, with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity for the most accurate on-screen Pen experience available, alongside a new tilt functionality, which allows for a natural and comfortable shading experience.

The Surface Dial is also supported – both on and off the new Surface Pro’s screen, unlocking a set of useful digital tools to increase productivity and encouraging a seamless workflow.

The new Surface Pro will launch on 15 June in 26 markets including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK.

Pricing will vary from region to region, and can be viewed in the individually linked store links above – the base model will be available in the US starting from $799, and can be pre-ordered today in all available countries.

Surface Studio, introduced in October 2016, will also launch in select European countries, namely Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK.
