Microsoft has been awarded the 2026 Franz Edelman Award, one of the most prestigious honors in operations research and analytics, recognizing the most significant impact on organizations worldwide.

The team’s award-winning work, “Microsoft Cloud Supply Chain: Democratizing Hyperscale Optimization for Cloud Fulfillment,” represents a breakthrough in large-scale optimization and generative AI for the cloud. This end-to-end system replaces fragmented manual processes, cutting fulfillment cycle time by more than half, delivering substantial financial benefits and enabling faster, more consistent decision-making.

The award was given by INFORMS, the world’s largest association for professionals and students in operations research, AI, analytics, data science and related disciplines.
